“Yes, that’s what I’m asking.”

I grinned. “No, I don’t.”

She shrugged and staggered to her feet. “Not my problem.”

Hopping off the desk, I wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her against my chest. “You’ve had too much to drink.”

“I have. But it feels good. A nice buzz is a great way to end my day. If I was still into having sex, that would be the best way to end today.”

“Tell me, Kennedy. Do you like it when a man gets down on his knees and eats your pussy?”

Her tongue slicked across her lower lip. “Yes, I love when a man eats my pussy. Don’t worry. There are women out there who aren’t into it. My nerdy man will be on his knees often,” she giggled.

Her laugh was cute. And I hated I wanted to hear her laugh again and again.

Kennedy’s hands splayed my chest. “If you weren’t in the mafia and you weren’t absolutely gorgeous. I mean, you are so handsome you make my pussy go haywire. And bonus, you’re a closet nerd, but you don’t eat pussy.” She scrounged up her nose.

“That’s a deal breaker. Not that I’m interested in you. Has anyone ever told you that you look like Thor?” she slurred.

I threw my head back and laughed. When was the last time I laughed so hard? “I’ve heard I have the Chris Hemsworth thing working for me. But Thor?” I chuckled, shaking my head. “That’s a new one.”

Her head fell against my chest as laughter bubbled in her throat.

Holding her like this felt intimate. I didn’t want to let her go. “I’ll walk you to your room.”

“No, don’t do me any favors. I can find my way.”

Gripping her fingers, I pulled her toward the door.

“How long will you be upset, Kennedy?”

“Forever. You should’ve walked me to my room. And you didn’t have to banish me to the other wing.”

“Well, you are my pretty little captive. It’s best that you stay over on that side of the house.”

I scooped her up into my arms.

“What are you doing?” Kennedy pushed her palm against my muscled pecs.

“Carrying you to your room,” I said as I stalked down the hallway.

Saro’s mouth gaped as I reached the atrium.

“Don’t say a word, Saro.”

He raised his hands like he was surrendering.

Kennedy’s head fell against my shoulder and the hand she used to push me away hung loosely around my neck.

“I didn’t want to have dinner with you.” A soft whimper left her.

Could she feel my heart racing in my chest? Probably not. She was practically asleep.

“You didn’t want to have dinner with me because deep down you like me. A part of you doesn’t know what to do with that realization. I wanted to have dinner with you for selfish reasons. Staring into those eyes and watching your lips move. You’ve done something to me, Kennedy. And I don’t like it.”

“Uh huh,” she moaned.

A smile picked up at the ends of my lips as I stepped over the threshold of her bedroom.
