Me: Thank you.

I stared out the window as Clip brought the SUV to a crawl as he approached the six-car garage in the back of the mansion.

In a few days, I’d meet with Quinn and get this shit sorted. Then Kennedy could return to her life. And this fluttering heartbeat bullshit would cease. Living under the same roof as her for two weeks wouldn’t work. I just met this woman and all I could think about was fucking her face to face while she yelled obscenities at me as she creamed all over my dick. What the fuck was that about?

I shook off the thoughts.

“Boss?” Clip’s gray eyes met mine in the rearview mirror. “Are you ok?” he mouthed. Clip wore a tensed expression.

“Yeah, take her inside.” I exited the truck.

“No! Franco,” her voice came out shaky.

She called out to me as I walked into the house.

“You’re safe here, Kennedy,” I stated.

I peeked at my guards. “Remove the blindfold once she’s in her wing of the house.”

“My wing, Franco? You just plan to leave me there?” She bit out. Her long brown ponytail dangled over one shoulder.

Peering at the pained expression on her face only made my situation worse. I needed a cold shower now.

CHAPTER TWO

KENNEDY

Ugh, I hate him.He couldn’t even escort me to the opposite side of the house. What was that about? He didn’t like me, and I definitely didn’t like him. I loathed pretty boys. They thought so highly of themselves.

“We’re almost there, Kennedy,” one of his men stated in a soothing tone, gingerly gripping my arm.

They were mafia guys. I’d never known mafia men to be sweet. Franco and his men looked like they played football for the Seattle Seahawks. Franco was built like Thor. And looked like him, too. Minus the long blond hair. He also looked like a younger Garrett Hedlund. Franco DeLuca was next level gorgeous. And yes, I hated how my body betrayed me in his presence. Maybe keeping our distance was a good thing. Not like I’d be tempted to fall into his arms or some shit. I could tell Franco would try to fuck me if given the opportunity. The two of us living under the same roof was his opportunity.

The guard removed the blindfold. I blinked a few times, then took in the large bedroom with pale gray walls. I walked to the oversized window and peeled the heavy gray drapes back. An Olympic sized pool was smack in the middle of the lush green backyard. “Nice,” I muttered.

“Kennedy?”
