“Zander.”

I glanced to my left. “Come on.” Hayden tugged my arm. We strolled down the hall. Her door slammed behind us.

“Sorry you ran into my evil sister. I’d steer clear if I were you. She enjoys playing cruel pranks.”

“Got it. I am about to crush you in Dungeons and Dragons.”

That was my first interaction with her.

Hayden and I sat at the kitchen table with his parents eating breakfast.

“Zander, are you with us for the weekend?” Hayden’s mother asked.

I glanced at Hayden. He grinned and nodded.

“Yes, Mrs. Gaster.”

She smiled. “Ok, after breakfast, I’ll drop you two off at football practice…”

“Ugh!”

Our eyes darted to Victoria.

Her arms crossed her chest. “What is sheep boy still doing here?” Victoria snarled.

“Victoria, sit down,” her father barked.

She plopped down in the wooden chair.

“Why do you keep calling me sheep boy?”

“You have a ton of hair and thick eyebrows. I bet in a few years, you’ll become wolf boy,” she snorted, dropping her head in laughter.

Mrs. Gaster gripped Victoria’s arm. “Apologize.”

She sighed. “Sorry.” She mouthed, “Not.” Her lips curled, devilishly.

Hayden was right, she was evil.
