He sucked in a sharp breath. “Let me help you.” His voice was deep and raspy, like he’d swallowed gravel.

I flinched as his fingers grazed my back. “Relax. I’m just going to zip you up, okay?”

Tears welled in my eyes as I nodded. “Thank you.”

“Who did this to you?” The man breathed as he slowly pulled the zipper all the way up.

I spun around and glared at him. “No one… I did this to myself.”

He narrowed his cold blue eyes at me. “What’s your name?”

“What’s yours?” I snapped.

He pursed his lips.

Silence.

I stumbled back against the sink as a wave of nausea gripped me. The way he looked at me was unnerving. And the shame over what I’d just done prickled my skin like hot needles. “Just leave me alone, please. I need to find my friend.”

His eyes glazed over me again before he stepped to the side to let me pass. “Whatever you say, firecracker.”

As I inched by him, the scent of coffee and tobacco tickled my nose. It coiled in my throat as I breathed it in. I paused to look back at him. “Thanks again… whoever you are.”

I shut the door behind me and was instantly hit with an array of sensations. The music was too fucking loud and the light trails from the glowsticks only added to my dizziness.

Fuck, I needed to find Bailey.

As I shoved my way through the drunken crowd, the angrier I got. I shouldn’t have let her go after Billy by herself. Why was I always so fucking selfish? She gave me an out and I jumped on it without even blinking.

I stomped through the kitchen, my rage building with every step I took as I searched for her. After striking out in the parlor and the dark creepy basement, I headed for the stairs. It dawned on me that Bailey would want to lure Billy somewhere private and quiet. No witnesses. That’s what I would’ve done.

If I wasn’t so busy getting fucked in a bathroom by four scumbags.

Ugh. I fucking hated myself so much right now.

I sprinted up the stairs as fast as my heels would let me. The hallway seemed eerier now than it did earlier when we were getting ready for the party. I tried various doorknobs as I walked, only to find them locked.

Fuck.

As I neared the last corridor, muffled voices rang out. My heart skipped a beat as I stalked toward the room it was coming from. Just as I approached, I spotted Raine dragging Chad, who was kicking and screaming into the room. He slammed the door behind them.

It’s fucking happening. Fuck. A lump formed in my throat and my knees wobbled. I wrapped my hand around the knob, my heart pounding. Could I stomach this? Would Bailey be angry with me for wandering up here? Or would she secretly resent me if I walked away?

I took a deep breath and wiped the sweat from my brow. After everything I’d done tonight, the least I could do now was stand by her side as she took down the bastards who assaulted us.

As I turned the knob, a blood-curdling scream rang out. I gasped as I spotted Bailey with a bloody knife in her hand. She stood over Billy, his mangled body slumped in a chair.

Her eyes widened with horror when she saw me. “Maur… No. You’re not supposed to see this.”

My body trembled as Grim hissed and shut the door, locking me inside with them. “You should have stayed downstairs,” he grumbled.

Saint and Poe had Chad gagged and pinned against the wall, a knife to his throat. My nausea from earlier crept back up. It was one thing to talk about murder, another to actually see it. “Bales… what the fuck have we done?”

She shook her head, a crazed look in her eyes. “I did this, Maur. Your hands are clean. This piece of shit was going to kill us. And this one,” she pointed the knife at Chad, “was egging him on.” Chad flailed wildly under Saint’s grip, tears streaming down his cheeks.

She was right. They would just keep coming for us. For her. But I couldn’t let her carry this by herself. Images of what they did to us flashed in my mind. The rage I had for myself, for them, for the douchebags who poured vodka down my throat while they took turns fucking me, it bubbled up inside me like a fucking volcano.

I forced my legs to move and walked over to my best friend. I wrapped my hand around hers. “I got this.”
