“The annulment.”

“What do you mean no? Neither one of us wants to be married to the other,” I argue with him.

Those slate-green eyes land on me and narrow. “If you want an annulment, you need to tell your brothers to kill the deal with Emerald Hotels,” he says, sounding very sober while telling me that.

“What deal? I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I explain to him.

“Those are my terms,” he says, folding his arms.

Romeo bursts out laughing as he looks between the two of us.

“Seems unreasonable,” Savannah states.

“I’m being very reasonable,” Alessandro says smugly.

“And if I don’t?” I ask through gritted teeth. Never in my life have I wanted to murder someone more than I do right now.

“Then I’ll release our wedding pictures and tell the world we are married.” He grins, crossing his arms as if he’s checkmated me.

“You wouldn’t?”

“I very much would. Wonder who this would hurt more in the press?” He sneers.

I stand up, my face red with anger. “You’re going to rue the day you ever pushed me, Conti. Mark my words.” And with that, I turn on my heels and leave the suite.

“Romeo, lose my number,” Savannah says, joining me as we storm out of the room, slamming the door behind us. The lift arrives seconds later and as soon as I step in and those doors close, I break down.

“Babe, I’m so sorry,” Savannah says, wrapping her arms around me.

“I’ve ruined everything,” I sob.

“No, you haven’t. Those asshole Conti’s have. Now I get why your family hates them. Using your misfortune for their gain. Disgusting,” she says, her embrace tightening.

“I can’t ruin Paige and Gio’s holiday with this.”

“You won’t, I promise. I’ll be by your side every step of the way. It’s only three more days and then it’s done.”

“They are going to hate me. I know my brothers and father have been working on this deal for months, and now because of me, they are going to lose it.”

Savannah squeezes me tightly. “I’m sure they will understand. Your family loves you, they will not put money over their love for you.”

“It’s more than just money, Sav. My father has dreamed of owning these hotels. He isn’t getting any younger, his health isn’t good. I can’t take that away from him,” I explain to her.

“I know. Look, we don’t have to do anything today.”

“What about Gio and Paige? I can’t ruin their weekend,” I ask her.

She shakes her head. “Let’s get through these next couple of days celebrating them, and then you can worry about it when you get home. In the meantime, we can come up with something.”

“I can’t believe I did it,” I sob.

“Vegas makes people crazy,” she says.

ALESSANDRO

“That was fucking brilliant, brother,” Romeo says, high-fiving me. It was the only way. “Best birthday ever, fucking the Fiorenzos over and you delivering Emerald Hotels on a silver platter to Father, a fucking masterpiece.”
