She’d be right.

“What the hell is going on?” Romeo demands as he stares at his brother and his friend.

“Well, Rome, apparently I married Natalia last night, and now I am drinking the memories away,” Alessandro explains.

Rude much? “Wish I could forget the memories, too,” I grumble as I take a seat on the sofa.

Romeo pinches his nose. “Let me get this straight, a Conti and a Fiorenzo got married last night?”

“Yep,” Alessandro says, raising his glass in the air.

“You married your enemy last night?” Savannah whispers to me.

“Apparently. I’ve only just found out. I don’t remember.”

“It’s the universe doing crazy things,” his drunk friend says from the bar, waving his glass in the air.

“What did you do to him?” Romeo says, pointing his finger at me.

“Hey, back up, Rome, that’s my bestie,” Savannah says, standing up and putting herself between us.

“Babe, you don’t get it. This woman is evil, her whole entire family is,” Romeo tries to explain to her.

How fucking dare he.

“Just because your dick was inside me doesn’t mean you have the right to talk about my friends like that. My best friend, Paige, is marrying Nat’s brother and that makes her family. If you mess with my family, I’m going to mess with you,” she tells him.

That’s my girl.

Rome raises a surprised brow at Savannah. “I appreciate you sticking up for your friend but she’s a Fiorenzo.”

“And you’re a Conti, so?” Sav adds.

“Our families are enemies,” he tries again to explain.

“Well, guess what? It looks like now you’re no longer enemies, you’re family. Because your brother just married my friend,” Savannah explains.

“I like her,” Alessandro’s friend calls out.

“Fuck off, Nico,” Romeo says.

Nico chuckles and continues to make drinks behind the bar, then brings them out. “Think you all need to catch up. It’s going to make the situation feel so much better,” he says, giving me a wink as he hands me a glass.

I take a sip and cough. Wow, I wasn’t expecting straight tequila.

“I don’t understand,” Romeo says, then throws back the drink Nico gave him, clearly agitated.

“Welcome to the club. Apparently, Fiorenzo and I got so drunk last night that we thought it was a good idea if we got married. Don’t ask me why, I can’t seem to locate those memories right now, but we did,” Alessandro explains.

I wish I was his level of drunk to be dealing with this.

“And why are you here, then? Are you going to extort my brother?” Romeo turns and asks me.

“I came here to ask your brother for an annulment and for us to agree to never tell anyone. I was hoping this mistake would never see the light of day,” I tell him.

“Nope, no, no. Not going to happen,” Alessandro states loudly.

“What’s not going to happen?” I ask him.
