“Looks like the two of you had fun consummating the marriage.” He smirks as he eyes the broken lamp and scattered clothes. I flip him off which only makes him belly laugh.

“This isn’t fucking funny. Romeo can’t find out, not until I’ve worked out what the hell I’m going to do,” I tell him.

He pretends to zip up his lips and throw away the key.

Asshole.

“I can’t believe I married her. What would have possessed me to do something so stupid?” Nico starts to answer, but I turn and glare at him. “That was a rhetorical question.”

He throws his hands up in the air. “What I was going to say was because she’s a beautiful woman. I follow her socials,” he says with a grin.

“Sounds like you like her.” My eyes narrow on him, my jaw twitching at his comment.

“I’m not allergic to Fiorenzo like you are.”

Fuck him.

“You haven’t minded sharing before,” he adds.

What is going on? “You seriously asking me if you can fuck my wife?”

“Wife, hey?” He chuckles deeply.

“Fuck you,” I say, flipping him off. I’m freaking out here. I don’t need my best friend pressing my buttons, too. “My father is going to kill me,” I say as I start pacing the room again. “He already thinks I’m useless. Especially now that he’s got word the Emerald Hotels might be looking to go with Fiorenzo after they assured me they liked our deal.”

“What are you going to do about it then?” Nico asks.

“Who the fuck knows.”

Nico grins as he walks over to the bar and grabs the bottle of tequila. “I think what this situation needs is shots,” he states, holding the bottle in the air.

“I think that’s what got me into this situation in the first place.” I moan.

NATALIA

Ican’t believe I am retracing—albeit in reverse—my walk of shame from earlier this morning. At least this time I have underwear on.

I continue to stomp through the casino, making my way to the lifts. Thankfully, there are people getting in and they swipe their cards in the lift, and we all pick our floors. I’m a bundle of nerves as I watch every floor pass by.

How in the hell did this happen? What was I thinking? You weren’t. What was in those shots that would make me think it was a good idea to marry Alessandro Conti? This must be a bad dream, there is no other explanation for what’s happened.

None.

Another memory of last night assaults me.

“I need you.” From within Alessandro’s arms, legs wrapped tightly around him, I moan like a cat on heat. I’ve never been this turned on in my life. Suddenly, my back hits the wall, and the bouquet of flowers falls from my hand as Alessandro makes room to kick off his shoes and then his socks. My hand is on his belt and I’m pulling it from his pants before throwing it to the floor. He shucks out of his suit jacket which falls into a crumpled heap on the floor.

“I need you, too,” he growls as he lets my legs fall from his waist and I slide down his body. He leans forward and kisses me. It’s frenzied, with nips and sucks as my fingers start to unbutton his shirt, while his hand is unzipping my dress. Reaching the end of the buttons, my hands slide up his body, over every divot of muscle—wow, the man is cut. Who would have thought underneath those designer suits he had a body like this? My hands continue their exploration until I reach his broad shoulders, then slide his shirt off. I want to lick every muscle. My dress starts to loosen as we shuffle through the suite. He pulls down the straps of my dress, exposing my bra and then my underwear before pulling the dress down and off my body.

“Fuck, Nat,” he curses as he stares at me as if I might be the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.

“Don’t look at me like that,” I tell him.

His brows pull together. “Like how?”

“Like I’m special. I don’t want that from you, please, not from you,” I plead.
