“Feeling okay?”

“So good,” I murmured.

He brushed some bark off my back, his fingers skimming my ass as I pushed myself against his hand, wanting more.

He growled his approval, cupping my ass before helping me pull my pants on. Brushing back a few loose curls that had worked themselves out of my ponytail, he studied my face with complete satisfaction.

But I was far from satisfied.

I had told him I wasn’t comfortable having sex in public, but after experiencing that? I wasn’t sure how I could get in my car and leave, knowing there was so much of him I hadn’t explored.

Chapter Eighteen

Emily

“They expected nothing in return?”

“Nope. In fact, Bash turned me down.” I set my purse on the table by the door and slipped my shoes on.

“Like for you to—” She lowered her voice and her last word scrambled inaudibly through the phone.

“What?”

“Welcome to Roxie’s,” she called out. “Customers,” she whispered. “Keep talking.”

“He wouldn’t let me do anything in return. He just held me until my date with Mac.”

“And then Mac—” She cleared her throat. “Against a tree?”

I fanned myself, overheating from the memories.“I have to work with both of them today—”

We had already gone over the events of my weekend like five times. I had no shot at keeping my cool when I was already anxious about my first day on the job.

“Are you going to do anything? There are a lot of storage closets in that arena…”

“Roxie!”

I pulled my sweatshirt on—a deep green Evergreens hoodie that Mac sent over the day before. Rubbing my arms, I let the soft inner fabric hug me and groaned.

“If you complain—” Roxie warned.

“I’m not complaining, but this is harder than I thought it would be.”

“Yes, having two men who want to worship your body is super tough, Emily.”

I heard her eyes roll through the phone.

“There you are,” a low voice rumbled behind me.

Roxie heard, too, squealing a goodbye before hanging up.

Bash wrapped his arms around me, snuggling against my back as I leaned into him. “This looks good on you.”

He ran his hand along my arm, lacing our fingers together as he twirled me to face him. I only saw a flicker of his smile before his face darkened.

“Really?”

I glanced at the perfectly innocent sweatshirt. “What’s wrong?”
