I could lose both of them, but if I never asked, I would guarantee my misery.

“Like I was saying, my last relationship just ended. I’m not someone who ever dates multiple people, but—” I chewed the corner of my mouth and sucked in a deep breath as both men watched me silently. “What if I were to date both of you?”

“At the same time?” Mac asked. “Like a throuple?”

Bash shook his head, and I threw my hands up. “No. No, of course not. Like what if I was dating both of you separately?” I pressed my palms to my cheeks to cool them down and laughed nervously. “I’ve honestly never done this—”

“I believe you,” Mac said, softly.

“I know you haven’t,” Bash said, his fingers stroking my lower back.

“I feel this unexplainable, powerful pull toward both of you and the thought of picking one of you feels gross—”

“I’m up for exploring where this goes.”

My eyes snapped to Mac’s and his open, easy smile put me at ease.

I turned to Bash, bracing myself, but he was staring at Mac, his face softer than I expected.

“You know what? Me too. No labels. Just the two of us showing you how incredible we each think you are. Think you’re up for that, Savage?”

Mac nodded and groaned. “I wish I was there to show you exactly how much I agree with Bardot.”

“So the two of you can put your differences aside for me?”

“I would do anything for you, Em,” Bash whispered.

Mac’s eyes widened, and he cleared his throat. “It’ll be an adventure. But does this adventure have any ground rules?”

“I haven’t thought it through. Maybe we could just treat this as a situation where you each know I’m dating someone else and we go from there—” I gulped and shifted my hand down the phone, my grip slipping from my sweaty palms.

“What’s wrong?” Bash’s eyes searched my face.

“Yeah, what’s wrong?”

My eyes flicked between both of them. Mac with his gray-green eyes and Bash with his deep blue eyes. Both of them locked on me, seeing me in a way no one had ever taken the time to see me before.

“It’s so hypocritical, but the thought of either of you dating someone else at the same time makes me sick.”

“Since laying eyes on you, I haven’t even thought of anyone else.”

Mac’s enthusiasm made the coil in my stomach tighten.

Bash snorted.

I leveled my gaze at him, and he threw his hands up. “What?”

“You say you’ve wanted this forever, but you’ve dated other people—”

He stroked my cheek and goosebumps erupted down my arm. “Em, it was only to get you off my mind. I knew I couldn’t have you.”

This time, Mac snorted and attempted to cover it with a cough. “Sorry, allergies.”

Bash rolled his eyes. “How about this? We respect each other’s boundaries—if one of us asks Em out and she already has plans with the other person, we respect that and don’t sabotage anything.”

“And I know that I’m putting myself in the middle of this whole situation, but the two of you are so different and if I want to see one of you, please don’t bring me into the middle of any jealousy—geez, that sounds conceited—”

“No, it doesn’t. I know precisely what you mean,” Mac said, his eyes on Bash.
