“Only time will tell, but he wasn’t pleased.”

Chase reaches over, puts his hand over mine and gives it a reassuring squeeze, then looks into my eyes and smiles. “You should be proud of yourself, Val. I know I am.”

The server comes by to take his dinner order, and Ellen kicks me not-so-gently under the table. I turn toward her, and her eyes are sparkling. She gives me the thumbs-up sign, letting me know her opinion of Chase. I have to laugh at her sign of approval.

Val has on her biker babe clothes again. Damn, she looks sexy. The new pants she bought look painted on.

I watch her hips sway as she walks past me, then I pull her in for a kiss and caress that same ass.

“Fuck, I’m getting used to being hard when you’re around.”

“I can see where that might be a problem,” she quips.

“Have you thought about what type of motorcycle you want?”

“Some. I like the Can-Am Spyder, but nobody else at the club seems to have one.”

I shrug, “So, who cares? You’ll be the first. If that’s the bike you want, we should get it for you.”

“Thanks, but for now, I’ll just hold on tight while you drive.”

“Works for me. I like feeling you behind me— or under me. I like it when you’re on top too, or down on your knees—“

“Chase! Behave. What has you in such a feisty mood tonight?”

I pull her into my arms, “Well, I’ve been working the last three nights, and I haven’t had you in my bed.”

“I’ve been sleeping in the same bed as you.”

“You know I wasn’t talking about sleeping, Babe.”

“You’re the one who made plans tonight.”

“Damn, I know. I mentioned to my uncle that you wanted to learn how to play pool, so he suggested we come by tonight. I guess there’s some hot shot player he wants us to meet.”

“Well, I’m ready when you are.”

“Let’s go.”

I meant it when I told Val I like feeling her behind me. Her soft curves pressed up against me like they are now. I can’t wait to get her alone.

“We’re here.”

We secure our helmets and then wave at the regulars outside the bar. I keep my arm possessively around Val as we make our way inside.

I’ve never been the possessive type, but since Val started showing off her curvy body, she’s been drawing some attention. I try to make it clear that she’s off-limits. She’s my wife; you’d think they could keep their eyes to themselves.

I order each of us a draft and then bring it back to our booth.

I look up as Sam comes around with a guy I haven’t seen in here before.

“Val, Chaser, this is Matteo Rossi. He’s one of the best pool players around. Unfortunately, he’s just passing through. I told him we need some good pool players in our club.”

“Matteo, nice to meet you,” at my questioning look, my uncle states, “Matteo said Italians don’t name their bikes.”
