“No problem.” She quickly threw on a sundress and left the room.

“I can’t believe we get to fly home on a private jet.” Jordyn beamed with excitement. “I like this fiancé of yours.” She grinned. “You shouldn’t have taken Plan B.”

“What? Why would you say that?” I asked, glancing at her.

“Because if you got pregnant, you’d be set for life. Daddy Warbucks would take care of you and his kid for life.”

I shook my head as I looked out the window.

We arrived at the hangar where the large plane was waiting. After the driver opened the door, I climbed out and stared at it.

“Mr. Bradshaw is already on the plane,” the driver spoke, handing us our bags.

“Thank you.” I smiled.

Stepping onto the plane, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I’d seen private jets in the movies but never one in real life. It was unlike anything I’d ever seen.

“There you are.” Miles smiled, kissing my cheek.

“Hi. Miles, I’d like you to meet my best friend, Jordyn.”

“Jordyn, it’s nice to meet you.” Miles extended his hand.

“The pleasure is all mine, Miles.” She grinned. “Thank you for letting us fly home on your private plane.”

“You’re welcome. Come sit down.” He gestured.

“You must be Stella.” A man stood from his seat. “I’m Levi, Miles’ best friend. This is my girlfriend, Laurel.”

“It’s nice to meet you.” Laurel smiled.

After introductions were made, Miles took my hand and led me to the seat next to his.

“Once we take off, we can go sit on the couch. It’s more comfortable.”

“This plane is amazing.” I smiled.

“Thank you. I’m happy you like it. So, here’s the plan. When we get back to New York, you’ll start packing your things to move into my penthouse. I’ll take care of the marriage license, and we’ll get married at the courthouse on Friday. I’ll also need your banking information so I can deposit the first half of the money into your account.”

“So, you were the Kensington’s nanny?” Levi sat down next to us.

“Yes. I really miss the children.”

“Well, won’t Nadine be in for a surprise when she hears about your nuptials?” He grinned. “Being Mrs. Miles Bradshaw puts you in a class above her. Damn, this is good.” He chuckled.

“Enough, Levi,” Miles spoke.

CHAPTER 11

WEDDING DAY

Miles

After putting on my suit, I grabbed the small velvet box from the dresser, flipped the lid, and stared at the white gold diamond band—the ring I’d place on Stella’s finger. Today would be the day my entire life would change. The thought had me rattled all week. Getting married and having her move in with me was enough to drive me over the edge. This was never part of my life’s plan, and my mother knew it. This was just another ploy on her part to ruin my life.

“I can’t believe you’re going through with this, Miles,” my driver, Sean, said as he drove me to Stella’s apartment.
