Jesse looked to Linnea. Brendan. Dillon. Someone had to back him here.

“You look kinda pissed, Red, but Jess was just trying to take care of you and your little munchkin in there.” Bo came over from the other side of Brendan.

Thank fuck.

“Besides, once the press finds out you’re married to these Neanderthals you wouldn’t be able to work here anyway. You get me?”

She nodded.

“Those vultures are relentless. They’ll do anything to get a fucking picture and you can’t stop them. You might want to think about online classes for your last semester too.” Bo took her other hand and rubbed her fingers with his. “Sorry, Red. It comes with the gig.”

And with that, Bo went back to his spot at the table.

Taylor took her hand then. “That’s why Chloe will be marrying Jesse—legally.” He kissed her knuckles. “To hold onto our privacy as much as we can.”

“I said don’t make me choose!”

“We’re not, Riosin.” Jesse tucked her hair behind her ear. “It’s a name on a marriage license, that’s all. Okay?”

Chloe looked into his eyes and then Taylor’s. She exhaled and nodded. “Okay, but I’m taking both names.”

Their feisty darling girl. Jesse kissed one side of her mouth and Taylor the other.

Linnea popped up from where she’d been hovering and whispering in between Brendan and Bo. “I can do it! I want to plan your wedding for you, Chlo.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. Brendan’s going to help too.”

“I know the perfect venue.” Brendan winked.

Chloe eyed him and pursed her lips. “I will not get married in a sex club, Brendan.”

“Sex-positive, Chloe.” He smirked.

“Shut up, Brendan.” She giggled.

Linnea burst out laughing

And then everyone joined her.

It wasn’t until after their little family celebration, when they were back home and snuggled together in bed, that the momentous events of the past few days caught up with him. Chloe’s eyes were closed, her bottom snug against him, drifting off to sleep if she wasn’t asleep already. She had to be exhausted. On the other side of her, Taylor was still awake. Their eyes met and Jesse reached over to take his hand. He rested their joined hands together on Chloe’s hip and smiled as his eyelids closed. Then he felt her hand, warm and soft on theirs.

Three diamonds. One for each of them.

Past. Present. Future.

She carried their future.

And the love of three created it.

It was still dark when her eyes blinked open. Taylor stood beside the bed and bent down to kiss her temple. “I didn’t mean to wake you. Go back to sleep,” he whispered.

“What time is it?”

“Not quite six.” He combed his fingers through her hair. “Sleep now. I’ll try to be back for dinner.” Then he softly kissed her lips. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” But he was already gone.
