“No?”

Chloe shook her head. “It’s so strange that we can see out, but no one can see in.”

“It’s quite convenient, actually.” He winked at her and took her hand in his. “You kissed me in front of the little blonde.”

“She has a name, Tay. It’s Linnea. And yes, I did.”

“Why?”

Chloe tilted her head. “Why not? I kissed you because I wanted to.”

He leaned over and traced her bottom lip with his thumb before tenderly claiming her mouth. Soft and slow and sensual. A lover’s kiss.

“Kiss me whenever and wherever you like.” Taylor placed her hand on the bulge between his legs. “But you know this is what happens every time you do.”

“Yeah?” She smiled because it pleased her to know she had that effect on him.

He ran his nose under her jaw to her ear and kissed the lobe. “Yes. Does that surprise you?”

“Mm, no. A little zing starts down there when I kiss you so…”

“Down where exactly?” With a devilish smirk he lifted the hem of her dress. “Show me.”

Chloe glanced at the driver in the front seat. “Tay.”

“Pay him no mind. He can’t see you and he can’t hear you. Now show me.”

Chloe slid her panties off and spread her legs. “Right there,” she whispered.

She thought he would touch her. She wanted him to touch her, but he didn’t. Taylor retrieved her panties from the floorboard and tucked them into his pocket. He righted her dress and grinned. “Just you wait. You have no idea what we have planned for you, little bird.”

“Chloe. Babe. Are you ready yet?”

Jesse called to her from the other side of the door as she slid the silver Sarrieri panties up her thighs. There wasn’t much to the cheeky bikini—the delicate scalloped lace and silk barely covered her lady bits, but they were pretty. She giggled remembering how Linnea’s eyes bugged out of her head when she looked at the price tag, but tonight a common black thong from Victoria’s Secret just wouldn’t do.

“Five minutes,” she called back.

“You always say that, babe.”

Truth.

“I swear, Jess. I just have to get dressed.”

She removed the plum bodycon dress from the hanger and slipped it on. The stretchy soft velvet hugged her curves. It was short, reaching just past the apex of her thighs, and ruched up the front to a daringly low off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline with long sleeves. A pair of pavé diamond hoop earrings and strappy silver stiletto sandals were her only accessories. With one last glance in the mirror she touched up her lip gloss and opened the door.

Jesse stood on the other side of it. With a grin on his face, he looked at his watch. “Four minutes and thirty seconds.” Then his arm came around her waist and he pulled her against him, pressing a kiss to her temple. “I’m a lucky man.”

I’m the lucky one.

Chloe took a moment to appreciate this man who loved her. He looked so handsome. So sexy. Dressed in all black, the sleeves of his suit jacket were cuffed almost to the elbow to show the golden skin of his well-sculpted forearms. His hair was down, flowing in waves to the middle of his chest, and his crystal eyes glittered in the darkening bedroom.

She hugged him to her. “I love you.”

“I love you more, babe.” He squeezed her in his arms. “C’mon, Taylor’s waiting.”

The town car pulled up to the curb in front of the familiar red double doors that she and Linnea had walked by a million times. Taylor exited the limo first and held out his hand to assist her from the car. Chloe placed her hand in his and as she rose his arm came around her waist. Those warm chocolate eyes locked with hers and he kissed her right there on the street.

“Our beautiful little bird,” he whispered against her lips. Her tummy fluttered.
