Stretching, Alexander grabbed the bullet from the nightstand and turned it on. He placed it against her clit.

Grace’s mouth fell open and she tilted her head back. He thrust the dildo into her hard and fast several times and her hips came up off the bed. It was obvious she wasn’t thinking straight anymore. He was honestly surprised her hands were still on the headboard. It was no doubt the result of her previous training.

He turned the speed up on the bullet and that was all it took. An almost strangled sound erupted from deep within her throat as she came.

Alexander removed the bullet and the dildo, putting both on her nightstand before taking the blanket at the end of the bed and placing it over her. Forgetting about everything else, he lay down on the bed beside her and pulled her into his arms. He wanted to kiss her, but settled for brushing his lips against the top of her hair.

“You did good, gattina. You did good.”

Chapter 12

It took Grace a moment to realize she wasn’t alone and why. Her eyes had drifted closed after their scene and before she knew it, she was asleep. She’d felt safe, relaxed, and a little pleased with herself. Despite her fears, she’d done it. But more than that, she’d enjoyed it.

As soon as that realization popped into her head, guilt began to creep in. She knew it wasn’t logical. Kurt had told her to move on, to find another Dom, and she’d done that. He’d want her to be happy and she was. Mostly.

Grace couldn’t ask for a better man than Alexander to help her with this. The way he’d handled the scene was exactly what she’d needed.

Thinking about their scene had her blushing. He’d seen every inch of her, made her come. She could still smell a hint of sex in the air.

His arms tightened around her as he shifted his weight. The blanket covering her naked body slipped lower on one side, exposing one of her breasts.

She went to pulled it back into place, but he beat her to it. “Are you cold?”

The sound of his voice, the feel of his body next to hers, had her temperature rising again. She was far from cold. “No.”

“How are you feeling?” he asked as he ran a gentle finger from her elbow to her wrist. It was distracting.

She tried to ignore her body’s response. “A little sleepy, but good.”

“I wasn’t expecting you to conk out on me.” Grace could tell he was smiling. It helped lighten the mood.

“Sorry.”

“It’s fine. Just don’t make a habit of it.” He gave her a gentle squeeze, letting her know he was only giving her a hard time.

Neither of them moved as several minutes ticked by. It wasn’t awkward or uncomfortable. In fact, Grace felt more at ease than she had in a really long time. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” He brushed his thumb along the inside of her wrist. “Although, I should probably be the one thanking you.”

Grace didn’t agree, but decided to let it go. Alexander was happy. The scene had gone well. Great, even. She was now relatively sure she could accompany him to Serpent’s Kiss and not embarrass him or herself.

“We need to talk about the scene,” he said a while later. She’d been close to drifting off to sleep again. Being in his arms felt more right than anything had since her world fell apart.

“Okay.”

He seemed to sense she was waiting on him to start. “Was there anything you didn’t like?”

“No, not really.”

“That doesn’t sound definitive.”

He shifted again and she wondered if his leg was bothering him. She began to pull away.

“Where do you think you’re going?” His Dom voice was back, slightly deeper than his normal voice. It made her heart rate kick up a notch.

“You keep shifting your weight. I thought maybe your leg was hurting. I wanted to give you some space.” She saw his frown and knew he wasn’t pleased.
