“I guess I’m about to see how big of a deal it really is.” I want to literally stick my foot in my mouth. “Oh—I don’t mean how big of a dealitis. I just mean the nudity…ugh, shit.” I bury my face in my hands, and Ethan squeezes my shoulders as he laughs.
“It’s okay. Once I’m ready to shift, it’s going to happen fast. It’s going to look like it’s happening all at once. At most, you might hear a little cracking which is just the bones shifting into their new form.”
My heart pounds hard in my chest and I shiver from the chill of the evening air. “I can’t wait to see what you look like, but I’m nervous.”
“Don’t be. Just remember, it’s still me.” He rubs his hands up and down my arms then tips my chin up to look at him. “You can look into my eyes, and you’ll recognize me. I won’t be able to talk to you in my wolf form, but I’ll try to communicate the best I can.”
“Right, okay,” I say with a quick nod.
“I don’t want you to be scared, so just remember, look into my eyes.” He leans down to kiss me.
“Okay. Just get naked and make this happen,” I joke with a laugh.
Ethan lifts my chin again to meet his stare. “By the way,it, is a very big deal.” My mouth drops open and he runs his thumb along my bottom lip as he grins before walking to an open area of the deck.
He faces me, standing tall with his chest out. Never losing eye contact, he grins just before slowly raising his shirt over his head. I swallow hard as his sculpted muscular physique is revealed. I want to trace every masculine muscle definition starting with his hard pecs and biceps, down to his exceptionally defined abs. I hold my breath in anticipation as he slowly unzips and removes his jeans, never taking his eyes away from my reaction. Leaving nothing to the imagination, he slips his hands under the waistband of his briefs, and pulls them down.
Oh.
I swallow hard, unable to maintain eye contact as other parts of his body also stand proud and tall. He wasn’t kidding. He is, without a doubt, a very big deal. I don’t seem to be able to take my eyes off of it.
“It’s a little difficult for me to be naked in front of you and not reveal just how much I want you,” he says as his eyes blaze into mine. “You know, when I shift back, I’m going to remember the way you’re looking at me right now.” I take a deep breath and swallow hard.
It all happens so quickly that it’s hard to track all the changes occurring. It’s like watching special effects in a movie. There’s a little popping and cracking, then suddenly, his lovely tan skin is replaced with the richest, darkest, black fur, and my Ethan is gone. Instead, in his place on all fours, stands a beautiful, very large wolf.
He’s much larger than I expected as he stands perfectly still before me. I’m speechless, and my heart is racing. All I can hear is my own heavy, panicked breathing. Tears sting my eyes. He seems to sense my fear, cautiously walking over to me, and sitting in front of me. There they are. Those piercing steel blue eyes, staring back at me.
“Ethan?” Of course, he can’t answer me, but I see movement in his tail. Oh, my God. What is happening right now? I can’teven believe what I’m seeing. “Wow, this is incredible. Can I touch you?” I reach forward with my trembling hand.
His tail moves back and forth again, and he moves a little closer to me. I take this as my sign, and I reach out to stroke his luxurious fur as he lays his head in my lap, looking up at me with his beautiful eyes.
“You’re stunning,” I whisper, swallowing hard.
He responds by nuzzling into me. We sit in complete peace for several minutes, just looking at one another as I stroke his soft fur. He suddenly stands and turns, walking over and nudging his clothes and then looking at me, cocking his head to the side.
“If you’re asking if I’d like you to shift back, then yes.”
Ethan
Standing next to where my clothes are lying, I lower my head. My wolf's body is elongated into an upright position, and my human body returns as quickly as it disappeared. I flash her a smile, completely unfazed by what my body has just been through. My heart drops when I see tears running down her cheeks. Fuck. Did I push this too far too soon? I walk over and kneel in front of her, wiping away her tears. “Hey…are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” she says with a small nod. “Areyouokay?”
“Of course. I don’t even feel it anymore. I didn’t want to stay in wolf form too long your first time seeing me. How do you feel about what you saw?” I’m a little worried, considering her emotional reaction.
“Ethan, I can’t even put it into words. It felt like it couldn’t possibly be real, but I touched you with my own hands.” Sheextends her arms and places her hands on my chest. “You’re incredible.”
I rest my hands on her knees and assess her reaction. “You seemed a little scared at first.”
“I was, but once I looked into your eyes, I felt you with me.”
My heart warms and I smile, looking into her brilliant green eyes. “That’s because it is me.”
“Your wolf…you…are magnificent. Thank you for showing me.”
“Of course.” I brush her cheek with my thumb as her warm hands caress the muscles of my chest. I still, and tremble slightly as she continues her exploration. “You need to be careful, Olivia.” I take her hands in mine and kiss her fingertips. She looks down, fully aware that I’m still naked. My feelings for her are on full physical display.
She looks up at me. “Maybe I don’t want to be careful.”
