I immediately stand at attention. “Okay. Is something wrong?”
“No, don’t worry, but there is a reason for my fatigue.”
“Olivia, please. I’m dying here,” I say with a dry laugh.
“It’s, uh,” she pauses with a giggle, “it’s a baby.”
“Oh.” It takes about ten seconds for the words to sort themselves out in my brain. “Wait, what did you say?” I ask, in complete shock.
“Ethan, I’m pregnant. We’re having a baby.”
“You’re pregnant?” I ask as the smile spreads across my face.
“Yes. It’s really early, but Jillian said a blood test can pick up the hormones almost immediately.”
This is the best fucking news I’ve ever heard. A baby with the woman I love. This is incredible. “A baby!” I pick her up and swing her around, stopping only to kiss her. “We’re going to have a baby?” I need to hear the words again.
She takes my face in her hands and smiles. “We’re going to have a baby.”
“Olivia, you have no idea how happy I am. Are you happy?” I ask, my eyes searching hers.
“So happy,” she says with a bright smile.
“Wow, this is the best day.” I pull her tight to my chest.
“I think so too. I should tell you Chloe was with me when I found out.”
“Okay, so that means Nick knows now too?” I say with a laugh, because I know Chloe.
“Probably, yes.” She giggles.
I can’t wait to spread the news that I’m going to be a dad. “We have to tell everyone tonight. We’ll wait until after you’ve been confirmed as Luna and then make the announcement. My parents are going to be so excited.”
“Are you sure? Don’t you think it’s a little early? What if something happens and I miscarry?”
“It’s very, very rare. Werewolf miscarriage is far less common than human. I don’t think that should stop us from sharing our joy. Even if you did miscarry, which I don’t think you will, you should have the support of those around you. It’s not something that should be kept hidden like it never happened.”
“You’re right.” She nods, taking my hands in hers. “Okay, let’s tell everyone tonight.” We share what is probably the most emotional of kisses I’ve ever had in my life, followed by a hug that I don’t have any intentions of ending. “Ethan, I’m lovingthis moment, but I need to get ready for the ceremony,” she says with a laugh.
“Okay.” I sigh, unwillingly releasing her.
I cancel her driver and take Olivia to the pack house myself since I’m on my way back there anyway. I take her around to the back entrance so there’s no chance any guests will see the new Luna before tonight’s ceremony. Vanessa is waiting at the entrance to whisk her away to their room.
“Hey,” I say raising her chin so that her eyes meet mine before she gets out of the car. “Thank you for making this one of the best days of my life.”
“You’re welcome. Mine too,” she says as I lean in to kiss her lips.
“I love you, Olivia.”
“I love you, too. I’ll see you soon,” she says as she gets out of the car. I sit in awe as I watch her walk away. My baby is growing inside the woman I love.

Vanessa and I rush down the hall to the room reserved for us in the pack house. Chloe is already there, as well as Layla, who will be doing my hair and makeup for tonight.
“Just think of where your life was a couple of weeks ago, Liv, and now look at all the reasons you have to be happy.” Chloe gives me a knowing look.
