Hating the involuntary shudder that went through me, I looked toward my brother. At the same time, I felt Yakim’s hold on me tighten, but this time, there was no knife digging into my side.

Oddly comforted, I stared back at Callum.

“You will not come?” he asked, his eyes swirling with rage.

I shook my head. “I can’t. You should go before you get hurt.”

“Have they touched you?”

I swallowed, wondering if I should tell him the truth.

Mikhail started laughing.

Leon moved down the steps to reach him and leaned onto his shoulder. “You already know the answer to that,” he said. “What’s the point of bullying her over it? Just get the fuck out of our home already.”

Callum got back to his feet and fixed me with a look that filled me with terror. He was going to hurt someone to soothe the humiliation and rage he suffered here today.

“How could you let them touch you?” he said, seething. “How can you bear for them to touch you and stillbreathe?”

I had no idea how he knew what happened to me last night. There were no scratches or injuries on my face. The long sleeves of Yakim’s jacket effectively hid the bruises around my wrist from being shackled.

“You told him?” I asked, looking up at Yakim.

“More like showed him,” he replied. “We sent him some nudes. Don’t worry about it though. We wereallnaked in the photographs.”

I squeezed my eyes shut. Shame and embarrassment flooded me as I thought of the way Leon thrust into me from behind while Mikhail’s cock stayed buried in my mouth.

If Callum saw all that...

Is he here to kill me?I wondered, staring at Callum’s deadly glare.

“I’m no longer worth all this trouble,” I said to him. “They’ve taken everything my body had to offer. It wasn’t even about me. They hurt me to hurt you.”

Callum’s expression softened. “They did it against your will. It makes you innocent, Lucia.”

I shook my head. “I’m not innocent.”

“Come with me, darling. I’ll make everything better.”

“She won’t go even if she wants to go,” said Yakim in a commanding tone. “We’re keeping her with us. She’s ours now.”

Lilja turned back to stare at me before looking back at Callum.

Yakim motioned with his hand.

At once, the men who’d been waiting around us filed out and surrounded Callum and his guards. Pointing their rifles at them, they motioned for them to leave.

My brother’s men immediately obliged. Even if they were armed, there were simply too many of them to fight without losing their own lives.

Callum’s face darkened, making me worry about Dad and the working staff at home. He was going to unleash his rage and hate on them.

I watched as Callum walked out of the hall. A heavy breath left me and I felt my body sag against Yakim.

For the first time in my life, I witnessed Callum’s defeat. I never imagined the psychos holding me hostage would become the knights who could drive the monster away.
