He sat still, gazing at me.

Suddenly, I realized what I was doing. “Sorry!” I muttered, snatching my hand away.

“It’s okay,” he said, taking hold of my hand. He brought it close to his face and laid it against his cheek. “It’s okay to touch me.”

Heat seeped into my cool palm as I stared into his eyes. My heart throbbed against my chest, filling me with a giddiness I hadn’t experienced in years.

Five years hadn’t been long enough to kill the crush I had over Caleb Amhurst. I still yearned to touch him.

I put down my drink. Maybe it was the alcohol that was warming me up this way.

But you’ve barely had a sip, a voice spoke in the back of my mind. It’s not the whiskey. It’s the man sitting before you.

Lost in my thoughts, I didn’t notice Caleb shifting closer to me.

Glancing up at him, I found him leaning in.

Even as I stared at him, he didn’t move away. He inched closer until his warm breath was fanning my face.

My eyes closed. Deep down, I was curious to know what it’d feel like to kiss him again. Were my feelings real or just the imagination of my desperate lonely soul?

Caleb’s lips pressed against mine.

The delicate skin of his lips seared me as he gently moved them against mine. My heart pounded harder as heat rushed through my veins, lighting up my entire body on fire.

I opened my mouth, eager to taste him.

Caleb was slow and gentle as he slipped his tongue in my mouth to taste me.

My tongue danced around his, more desperate, more eager. It was a while before I realized my arms were wrapped around his neck, holding him close.

So, this is what I’ve been missing all this time, I thought, still locked in the kiss with Caleb.

No other man’s touch did this to me. Why did fate had to be so cruel? How could I want someone who could hurt me again?

A pair of warm lips touched the back of my neck.

My eyes flew open. The surprise touch jerked me away from Caleb, breaking our kiss.

“When did you get here?” Caleb asked, looking annoyed.

Turning around, I glanced at Corey. Unknown to me and his brother, he’d entered the suite and settled himself beside me.

“A minute ago,” said Corey. “I thought...” A hesitating look came over him as he met my gaze. “I thought she wouldn’t mind me if she was kissing you. She used to like me the best.”

“No, she didn’t,” Caleb mumbled.

“Shedid,” Corey asserted. “Tell him, Milla.”

I was caught between their heated gazes.

“It was nothing,” I said. “I was experimenting.”

“Experimenting?” Corey and Caleb chorused.

“That kiss meant nothing,” I said.

“It didn’t look like nothing,” said Corey.
