Walking out, I felt the chill in the air. Digging my hands in my coat’s pockets, I moved toward my car.

It wasn’t long before I was driving through the city traffic to reach the Fairmont area. Silvertree Park was built on the far eastern side of the residential zone and presented as a gift to Silverlake City from Amhurst Co.

When I realized Tyrell was planning on expanding into the surrounding wooded areas, I came up with the plan to protect the beautiful natural hills and woods there. Without wasting time, I hired the people who could turn the place into a park and announced to the world it’d be a gift for the residents of Silverlake City.

Mayor Tyrell didn’t even get a chance to protest against the idea as our social media blew up with support and encouragement. Everyone wanted to protect the natural beauty of the town and nothing was as wonderful as turning it into a park so no one could destroy those beautiful woods.

Apart from a few cars, the parking lot in the guest area was empty.

The early spring evening had already turned dark.

It was daunting to step through the gates of the park and walk through the narrow paths all by myself. The walkways were well-lit but I still felt nervous.

Noah, Caleb and Corey are close by, I reminded myself.

The gazebo they talked about was about a fifteen-minute walk away. Suddenly, I wondered why they’d called me to meet them there of all places. Couldn’t I have just met them at a hotel directly?

I’d been so excited about the surprise date, I didn’t even consider the mysteriousness of our meetup point.

Curiosity wiped away my nervousness of walking in the woods alone. I speeded up, hurrying toward the gazebo.

I was almost there when something caught my attention.

Beautiful red and green lanterns were hung on the tree branches while two strings of red paper lanterns lined the path. I stared all around me, soaking up the magical atmosphere.

It’s them, I realized, knowing it was Corey, Caleb and Noah who’d decorated the trail for me. Excitement flooded through me as I almost started running down the path to reach them.

The gazebo soon came into my view.

Strings of golden fairy lights were twined around the Greek marble pillars. Moving closer, I saw vines of fresh flowers covering the roof and railings.

“It’s so beautiful,” I breathed.

Three familiar figures stood in the center of the gazebo. My heart started beating hard as I ran toward them.

They made no move to come toward me.

Reaching them, I gazed into their somber faces. Noah stood in the center, Corey to his left and Caleb to his right. They were all dressed in impressive dark tuxes, looking like the true kings they were.

A strange emotion filled their eyes as they looked at me.

My heart pounded harder against my chest. What were they planning?

Slowly, I moved to stand before them.

As if in sync, they went down on their knee.

The gesture sent my heart fluttering. Suddenly, I couldn’t breathe. They’re going to propose to me!

I stood frozen as three pairs of eyes looked up at me.

“Camilla Katherine Amhurst,” Noah began. “You’re the smartest and most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. You’re a little crazy and the biggest nerd I know. Your smile makes me smile. I love you.”

I opened my mouth but nothing came out through the choke in my throat. All I could do was stare into his beautiful silvery eyes as they welled with emotion.

“Milla, I need you,” Caleb spoke up next.

I gazed into his emerald eyes and felt like I was looking into his very soul.
