Someone coughed loudly from the side. Turning in that direction, I found Brian staring at me with a strange expression.

“What?” I asked.

He took off his sunglasses, giving me a glimpse of his confused expression. “Do you kiss them one after the other?”

“I kiss them whenever,” I said with a chuckle. I was about to fill up a plate with food for Irene when Brian laid a hand on my back.

“Honey, we need to talk.” The seriousness in his voice gave me pause.

I followed him to the chairs that were laid out in the corner of the patio.

“What is it?” I asked, wondering why he’d suddenly turned grim.

Taking a seat, Brian fixed me with a severe stare. “Who are you involved with, Milla?”

“What do you mean?”

“You can’t keep kissing them and not choose one!”

“Are you talking about Noah, Corey and Caleb?”

“Have you been kissing other men too?”

“What? Heck, no!” I stared at my father, realizing he’d noticed me falling into Noah, Corey and Caleb’s arms and kissing them without any second thoughts.

“You have to choose one of them andstickto your decision. It’s not fair on them if you keep stringing them all along.”

“I’m not stringing them along,” I said, meeting his grim gaze. “Our relationship has always been this way. Since the moment we met, they made sure I knew I belonged to them.”

“Was this before I introduced you to them?”

I gave a nod. “Much earlier. I made out with all three of them at a party before I knew you were their dad. They never asked me to choose between them. I never even got the opportunity to eventhinkof choosing.”

Brian was quiet for a while, watching them with a thoughtful expression.

“They’ve always leaned on each other,” he said in a quiet voice. “After their mother died, they comforted each other. It was rare of them to fight about anything.” He met my gaze. “I guess that’s the reason they’ve wanted one woman to bind them all. They couldn’t bear to let different women pull them apart. I understand where they’re coming from but what about you? Are you okay with this arrangement?”

“They’ve always shared me,” I said with a nod. “They’re protective and possessive. Noah took a bullet for me and without Corey and Caleb, I wouldn’t be sitting here with you. What else could I want from them? They love me and I love them. Our relationship strays from the conventional, but we’re happy. I wouldn’t change a thing about us.”

“I’m glad you understand, honey,” he said. “But you should know that not everyone will accept your relationship. They’ll always want you to choose.”

I chucked. “Who cares about what people think? They can talk crap behind my back while I live a happy life with my family.”

“You already think you guys are a family?”

I gave a nod. “Irene’s our daughter. They’re like her fathers and you’re kind of like her grandfather. We’re a family. It’s time you accepted that.”

His happy smile deepened the wrinkles around his eyes. “Everything’s so wonderful. I just wish Eva could be here to see all this.”

I laid a hand on his. “She’s always with us.”

Tears shone in his eyes.

Shouts and cries erupted close by as Irene and my partners attacked the table of food.

“Wash your hands!” I cried out, jumping from my chair.

I grabbed Irene before she could put a handful of blueberries in her mouth.
