She put the Jeep in gear and we sped off at a high speed.

“Whoah, girl, slow down!”

“Not yet. Someone might see us together.”

“Uh, you do know you we’re in a vehicle with no doors, driving on a tiny island, right? The probability of us bumping into someone you know is probably quite high. Maybe we should get our story straight, just in case.”

“This island has a lot of secret spots, Miles.”

“So you’re sure no one will see us?”

Taylor sighed. “Fine, so you’re Miles… what’s your last name anyway?”

“Brannon.”

“Alright, Miles Brannon. If anyone asks, you hired me to take you on a tour around the island. Okay?”

I laughed. “Sounds good.”

We stayed on the main road for about fifteen minutes before she turned right, following a series of small streets through quiet neighborhoods, then left those behind as we entered a lush forest. I felt the temperature change, getting noticeably cooler, especially in the open Jeep.

“Aren’t you cold?” I said, giving myself an excuse to stare at her body again. I loved how her boobs juggled due to the rough roads.

“No,” she said, glancing at me. “You enjoying the view?”

“Very much.”

After another fifteen minutes Taylor made a hard turn, straight into the bushes where there was no road.

“Hang on!”

“Jesus, Tay!” I said, holding on, the powerful V-6 engine roaring as we pummeled downward, cutting across the dense shrubbery. A few minutes later we emerged from the trees and onto the sand. Taylor slammed on the breaks.

“We’re here,” she announced, cutting the engine.

I stared at the scene before me, mesmerized. We were in what looked like a small cove, hidden from the outside world by large trees on three sides. The white sands and water was pristine, and there wasn’t a single person in sight.

“Holy fuck,” I whispered.

We got out and walked down a few paces. I turned around and took in the view. “Damn, Tay, this is unreal. I feel like I’m in a dream.”

Taylor moved close, tiptoed, and gave me a long, wet kiss.

“Still think you’re dreaming?”

“Absolutely.”

“Come on,” she said, walking toward the water. “Let’s swim!”

Uh, oh.

When I didn’t follow her Taylor turned around. “What are you waiting for, Miles?”

“Can we just, uh, stay here?” I said without moving.

“Don’t tell me you’re afraid of the water.”

A memory of a much younger me, long forgotten, surfaced. I was surfing at Sunset Beach on Oahu with some friends, back during my high school days, when something nudged me off my board. A second later there was this loud crack as a large tiger shark lodged itself on my board, splitting it in half. I was able to swim away without getting bitten, but the experience had scarred me. I haven’t been back in the ocean since.
