I came here straight from a business trip in Europe. It was late when I arrived and I was exhausted, but I didn’t need to sleep here. I only live an hour away, so I could have gone home.

I invited myself to stay in the guest house to screw with Dominic. I wanted him to be in his bed, fretting himself sick about me being on his property.

His flight was delayed, but what I got was better.

The naked view of my future wife is a vision I won’t forget anytime soon.

The beauty’s decadent body with full, round breasts and curvy hips wearing nothing but black stilettos is the type of memory a man takes to his grave.

As devilish as I am I would have stopped her before she stripped, but the moment she confirmed she was a virgin, she shocked the hell out of me and appealed to my darker side.

I’d seen several pictures of her before, so I knew she was beautiful. Even if I hadn’t seen any pictures, people talk—men talk.

The status of her virginity never crossed my mind because I assumed she couldn’t be a virgin. Not with a body like hers and at the age of twenty-two.

If I’m not mistaken, it seems I also got to be the first man to see my future wife naked—kudos to me. But she did that for Ryan.

Now that I’ve stepped in, he needs to exit her life.

She’s mine now, whether she wants to be or not. And I don’t have to love or like her. Luna Bianchi is simply a means to an end.

The thud of heavy footsteps causes me to turn toward the door.

It’s him.

Senator Dominic Bianchi walks into the office and closes the door behind him.

I face him with a stern expression.

Keeping his gaze trained on me, he walks around to the large leather wing chair behind his desk and lowers himself into it.

The face he’s showing me, with the expression of undiluted evil, is his real face.

“It must be exhausting keeping up such a pretense in front of your daughter.” I give him a grim smile.

His wife knows who he really is, so I don’t mention her. She’s probably just as bad as him.

“Let’s just get down to business, shall we?” His tone is tense, a sign I have him twisted around my finger so tightly it’s a wonder he can breathe. “You’ve shown me the evidence you have against me and made your demand to marry my daughter. What next?”

“I want Luna to move in with me by the end of the week.”

“Why? Surely, she can stay home un?—”

“No.”

He glares at me for the interruption, partly in shock and partly infuriated because no one else would dare speak to him like that.

I understand. He’s known me since I was a boy, and my father has always treated him with respect. My simple reply is a sign that those days are long gone.

“Sunday. She needs to be moved in by then.” I place emphasis on each word.

Dominic’s jaw clenches, but he nods. “Very well. She will be there. And is that all? Is my daughter all you want, and my political endorsement of Le Blanche Global?”

“Yes,” I lie. “That’s all. I need a wife so I can take over the company. With your political connections our union will be highly beneficial to me. As will my silence and millions in investment for your campaign be for you.”

“Okay.”

He’s an intelligent man so, of course, he’s completely correct to suspect I must want more from him. I do.
