She moved closer to Liv, but instead of kissing her, Liv pulled Juliette so that her head was resting on Liv’s lap. Juliette looked up at her as Liv started playing with her hair. “Tell me if you don’t like it. We can stop.”

“No, I like it.” She liked it way, way too much. Not in a sexual way, but in a gooey, stay-with-me-forever kind of way, which was almost worse. She knew she had never felt this comfortable with a guy before.

Juliette let her eyes slip closed as she enjoyed the sensation.

“I think we should take this real slow. This is going to be an emotional journey for you, and I don’t want to push you until you’re uncomfortable. If I do anything you don’t like, you have to agree to let me know immediately, or the deal is off. Agreed?”

“Agreed.” Juliette felt like she would agree to anything in this position. Liv’s hands were like magic, sending waves of relaxation and contentment through her body and soul.

Too soon, Liv’s phone rang. She groaned and answered.

“Olivia Jones. Yes. Alright, thank you. I’ll handle it.”

She hung up and shot Juliette an apologetic look. “I have to get back to work. Sorry to cut this short.”

“No need to apologize – I’m the one who ambushed you at work with no warning.”

“So warn me next time. We should do this again.”

“Yeah, we should! Second date tomorrow?”

Liv grinned. “Second date tomorrow. Just in the name of proving your heterosexuality. I’ll see you at home, Juliette. Oh, and thanks for the burger.”

“You are most welcome. See you later.”

Juliette practically skipped out of the office building. She shouldn’t be this giddy, but she didn’t care. She was ecstatic to be speaking terms with Liv, and almost painfully excited about the coming weeks. Sure, it would have end, but she was still delighted to have given herself permission to experiment with Liv.

This had been a great idea. She would ultimately prove to herself she was straight, but for now, she gave herself permission to enjoy this.

Liv couldn’t believe how lucky she’d gotten. Not only did Juliette not blame her for the kiss, but she had agreed to date.

Though Juliette was sure it would end in her figuring out she was straight, Liv was far from convinced. Sure, straight people did experiment with their sexuality, just like gay people did. So in theory, it was completely possible that Juliette was indeed straight and just curious.

However, Liv didn’t think that was the case in this instance. She couldn’t pin down what made her so sure it was more than curiosity for Juliette, but she was nonetheless convinced that Juliette was in fact gay.

And what better way to convince her than show her how amazing a relationship with someone she could truly care for and be attracted to could be?

Liv was going to make this good for Juliette. Even if it did end – because even if Juliette was gay, that didn’t necessarily mean she and Liv would work out – Liv was determined to make Juliette’s first time dating a woman a positive experience for her.

She momentarily thought it might be a bad idea- Juliette being her stepsister and everything, but Liv had always pursued love freely and she didn’t intend to change that now.

The next day, she dressed particularly carefully, in one of the tight shirts she knew Juliette liked (even though Juliette had yet to admit it,) and a smart red pantsuit that really showed off her ass. Liv stopped by a florist on the way to work to get some sunflowers – Juliette’s favorite flower.

She didn’t get much work done that morning. She was too excited about lunch time. She and Juliette had shared plenty of meals together, but now it was different. Now, they were dating, and those meals took on a whole new meaning. Liv was finally free to feel and do what she wanted, without worrying about upsetting Juliette or ruining things between them.

Juliette knocked ten minutes early. “Sorry, I know I’m early. If you’re still busy I can –”

“No, I’m not busy,” Liv said quickly. “Please, come in.”

They sat down on the couch and Juliette handed her another Joe’s burger. “You know, you really should eat something other than burgers. They’re not good for you.”

“Yeah, but I’d rather die young than live a sad, burger-less life.”

“Bah, you can still have them. It’s all about moderation. Besides, there’s plenty of nice food at Joe’s. This wrap, for instance, has half the carbs and fat, but it’s still really delicious and –”
