“You guys wanna grab something to eat before I head to training? I saw a bistro down the street,” Theo asks.

“Yeah, sounds good,” Gage says.

“Sure, I’ll come,” I say.

Theo heads out to get us a table. Just then Gage frowns like he remembers something. He pats the pocket of the puffer jacket he’s wearing.

“Crap,” he mutters.

“What’s wrong?”

He digs out a pair of earrings that look familiar. “Mom gave Becca her earrings so she could try them on with her wedding dress, but I forgot to give them to her this morning before she went to the boutique,” he says. “I’m not supposed to see her in her gown before our wedding day though.”

I hold out my hand. “I’ll run them over to her, then I’ll get changed and meet you and Theo.”

He looks relieved as he hands them to me. “Thanks, man. I appreciate it.”

“Best man duties. It’s all part of the job.”

He takes off to meet Theo. I let Nigel know I’m going next door to drop something off.

When I walk into the bridal boutique, I’m greeted by a forty-something woman smiling at me.

“Can I help you?” she asks.

I tell her I’m a groomsman in the weddings of the brides who are having a fitting. I explain that I have earrings for one of the brides to try on with her dress.

“Oh, of course!” The phone at the reception desk rings. She points to the other side of the store. “They’re just down there. Go right ahead.”

She answers the phone and I walk through the all-white showroom to where she pointed. I glance at the endless racks of white gowns. Even the side tables and chairs in this place are white. The only thing that’s not are the floors, which are dark hardwood. There are glass vases of white roses and some other fluffy-looking flowers I don’t know the name of. There’s a large framed print on the far side of the wall, right next to a massive mirror, that says, “I do” in gold cursive letters.

Damn. This place is way fancier than the suit place next door.

When I turn the corner to the fitting area, I freeze. Because there’s Tori standing in front of one of the open dressing rooms in just her bra and panties.

Chapter 13

Tori

When I turn around, I expect to see Becca and Maya returning from the bathroom.

But I don’t.

Instead, I see Tyler, looking like James freaking Bond in a suit, gawking at me with his jaw on the floor.

I gasp. “What are you doing here?”

I’m suddenly aware of just how ridiculous I look standing in front of him in just my underwear. My skin heats from embarrassment. I was in the middle of changing out of my bridesmaids dress when I thought I heard Becca and Maya coming back from the bathroom. I was going to rush out and help Becca with her dress because she’s wearing a ball gown with a full skirt. I didn’t think twice about being in my underwear because Becca, Maya, and I are the only ones in the boutique right now. We’re close friends, we’ve gotten dressed and undressed in front of each other a million times.

But Becca and Maya aren’t here. Tyler is.

Tyler, who I’ve been thinking about non-stop since last night.

I haven’t been able to get our kiss out of my mind. I replayed it over and over in my head all last night and this morning. Yeah, it was a little awkward to kiss in front of an arena full of screaming hockey fans, but it was also freaking HOT.

Even though it only lasted a few seconds, it wrecked me. The feel of Tyler’s soft lips, the taste of his tongue, how he teased my lips open and lapped the tip of my tongue with his, the way he was soft and firm as he kissed me…it all drove me wild. There was such confidence in that kiss, I could feel it. And I wanted more.

But I tried to play it cool because we’re just friends and this is a fake relationship. I shouldn’t be fantasizing about our kiss cam kiss.
