“Get him some water.” I had him sit down to catch his breath. Luca handed him a bottle of water, and Lorenzo poured it over his head to cool down. “Where were you?”

“I tried to follow them. I ran for as long as I could until I lost sight of the helicopter.” He said as Luca handed him another bottle. I waited for him to tell me something useful.

“Hold on, were you able to get the tail number, or anything to identify the helicopter?” Raffaele asked.

“I did. They were headed Southwest.”

Raffaele raised a clenched hand in victory.

“Okay, good, awesome! I will be able to trace the helicopter using the air control and radar system. We can narrow it down to identify which helicopters are currently or have recently been flying to the Southwest.”

“Just a thought—wouldn’t Ghost already have covered for them?” Giovanni commented.

“No. If he removes the tracking from the flight radar, it will attract attention. The system will flag it as missing, triggering a full-scale search party. He wouldn’t risk it.” Raffaele explained.

“Get at it as soon as possible and gather everyone at the manor.” I commanded, a sense of relief washing over me at the possibility of reaching Althaia and Cara sooner rather than later. My body itched to get my hands on Gaetano and make him suffer as much as possible.

They quickly set off to assemble everyone for our strategic planning, while I provided Lorenzo with updates.

“Arianna was stabbed.”

Lorenzo rose to his feet with fury etched across his face.

“What?!” He snarled. “Where is she?”

“Down the hall to your left.” I told him. He ran a hand over his head before approaching me.

“I swear to God, if she dies, or if my wife dies… hell, even Althaia, I am going to rip that fucking woman to pieces.” Lorenzo growled.

“I won’t stop you.” I said to him. If it were to happen, even though I was praying with everything in me that they would be safe, I wasn’t going to stand in his way.

He nodded and headed to Arianna’s room, but I placed a hand on his shoulder to pause him.

“She’ll be okay. There is no way she is leaving us when she lives to annoy the shit out of us.” I assured him, patting his shoulder before making my way out.

There was still someone I needed to have a conversation with.

Exiting the car with Antonio, we entered the house, heavily guarded by my armed men. Proceeding down the hall to the living room, I found her seated on the couch, holding a mug.

She stood up when saw me, but I gestured for her to sit back down again. I sat in front of her, and her eyes followed my movements when I pulled out my gun and placed it on the table.

“You’re going to tell me everything, or I promise you, I will be the one ending your life. Speak.” I declared with a cold stare.

She looked down at the mug in her hands, sighed, and nodded before meeting my gaze with eyes of a color that reminded me too much of my wife’s.

“I will tell you everything.”

“This is what we’ve found so far.” Ava announced, unrolling a map onto the table. Everyone had gathered at the manor once Ava and Raffaele had something useful for us to strategize a new plan.

“Based on the information given, they can’t be more than two hours away in flight time. We’ve narrowed it down to this.” She drew a circle around the area, and I frowned. It was still a big region, and it would take us too much time to precisely pinpoint where they were located.

“Our theory is they have to be closer to this area.” She drew another, smaller circle within the first.

“What’s your reasoning?” I asked.
