“I can see that.”

“My brothers are more athletic than me, and I always wanted the same admiration they got. I built muscles easily, especially when I focused on my diet. It became a bit of an obsession with me.”

I rested my chin on his chest. “What else are you obsessed with?”

He smiled down at me and cupped my head. “You.”

“Has that always been the case, or just recently?” My heart pounded in my chest as I waited for his answer.

“I wouldn’t say always because we were kids when we met. But when I was a teenager and first started noticing girls, I was aware of you. But our friendship was important to me. I had my brothers, but you were the only female friend I had. It was a different kind of relationship, and I liked it.”

It was probably for the best because how many teenage relationships make it? Holly and Talon’s hadn’t. We would have been too immature, and it could have ruined everything. “Why didn’t you ever say anything?”

“Same reason as you, I suspect. We didn’t want to do anything to hurt our relationship. It was too important.”

“But you’re not worried about damaging our friendship now?” I asked, needing to know the answer.

He sighed. “I wouldn’t say that. But I couldn’t see you date someone else. Not when I hadn’t told you how I felt. I had to make a move.”

I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. He’d only made a move because of the bachelorette auction and my vow to date in the new year. Was it a case of he didn’t want me, but didn’t want anyone else to have me?

I didn’t want to think the worst when I’d felt so happy a few minutes ago. But I couldn’t help but think about it.

“Wherever your mind is going, please don’t. Trust that I want to be with you. I’m exactly where I want to be. I don’t have any regrets.”

I smiled, ignoring the concerns and worries. He was what I wanted, too, and who cares why he finally made that first move? It only matters that one of us finally did.

“Let’s take a shower and eat before Ember comes home. I have more plans for you.” Sebastian got out of bed and pulled me to stand next to him. “Never doubt that I want you here. I’ve always wanted to get to this place.”

The words washed over me like a cozy blanket. “Me, too.”

“It doesn’t matter how we got here, or when, just that we did.”

He was right, and I was being overly cautious. “You’re right.”

He smiled at my admission and kissed me softly on the mouth before leading the way to the bathroom.

He turned on the water and kissed me some more while we waited for the water to heat up. By the time he tugged me under the stream, I was hot and bothered. He used the soap to clean me, while at the same time, making me want more.

“I’ll never get enough of you,” he murmured against my skin.

His words only ignited my libido. I wanted him.

He slipped his finger inside me and used his mouth on my nipples to build me up. Then he lifted me into his arms so that my back was against the cool tiles and surged inside me. There was nothing sweet about it. I could feel his muscles flexing and how much he wanted me.

If I ever had concerns that we wouldn’t have chemistry, he’d proven me wrong. There were sparks between us, and they didn’t seem to burn out, no matter how many times we had sex.

He’d said numerous times that he couldn’t get enough of me, and I felt the same. He was burrowing into my heart, and I wouldn’t be able to let go or see a future without him in it. I gave myself over to the knowledge that Sebastian was it for me.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and held on while the orgasm shot through my body. It only seemed to urge him on, and when he finally thrust deep, he bit my shoulder lightly, then soothed it with a swipe of his tongue.

We stayed like that, his cock softening inside of me, my body slumped around his, until he slowly lowered my feet to the floor. We washed quickly, cognizant that Ember might be home soon, and we didn’t want her to find us naked in the shower together.

Then we hurried to dry off and get dressed. Even though Ember was coming home soon, the mood was light.

In the kitchen, I sat on the stool while Sebastian fried up some eggs and cut up avocado on the side. While he waited for the eggs to cook, he rounded the counter and stood between my legs. “I love having you here.”

I tipped my head to the side with a smile. “I’ve been here for a few weeks.”
