“Not any more you’re not,” I said. “Footit’s is off limits unless you want certain matters investigated.” My gaze narrowed.

“You don’t know anything.”

“I know quite a bit.” My jaw firmed. “Enough to keep you cowering in that sad empty penthouse of yours.”

“It’s not empty. I have Lace.”

But for how long? The poor girl was strung out. I’d seen the pictures from the investigators Dick had hired.

“Whatever.” I crooked my fingers. “Be a pussy and stay there terrorizing Addy, or come over here and show me what you’ve got. If anything.”

I could see the calculation in his nearly black eyes. The fear. But because he couldn’t resist the taunt, he came.

My adrenaline spiked. This was between him and me. Addy had her turn to take him down a few pegs. Now it was my turn, and he was going all the way down.

“You’re the pussy, Evans.” He strutted toward me, acting like he had a spine, but we both knew it was bullshit. “Letting Collin have her when she could have been yours all along.”

“She chose Collin,” I said. “He wasn’t worthy of her. But I respect Addy and her choices, unlike you.”

I noted with a great deal of relief, my woman moving into Tommy’s arms. Kyle had come out and stood beside my son, wearing a grim expression. Claire and Rachel were with him. I didn’t know where Missy was, but wherever this bunch was, she was sure to be.

A shadow falling over me, I whirled around. I’d noted the bodyguard moving around the periphery of the gathered crowd. Guessing his move, I took him down with a sweeping kick and kept him pinned to the pavement with my hand at his throat. Tommy wasn’t the only one who knew Vietnamese martial arts.

“Stay out of this, Arturo.” I gave him a sharp look. “This is between me and that worm you work for. Understand?”

The breath knocked out of him, he only nodded.

I straightened and strode straight to Martin. I knew his move before he made it too. He swung at me wildly.

Fucking coward.

I caught Martin’s arm and yanked it up behind him. He cried out. I’d dislocated it, but I felt absolutely no remorse. I knew he felt none for what he did to Addy.

Grasping his shoulder, I reared back and introduced him to my fist. One punch to his midsection expelled the foul breath from his lungs. The second dropped him to his knees.

“Enough,” he sputtered.

“Not enough.” I grabbed him by his hair and yanked his head back. “Stay away from my woman. Away from Footit’s. Or I’ll finish you.”

“You wouldn’t dare.”

“I would dare anything for Addy. She’s mine, and Ella is too. I won’t hesitate to bring you low in front of her, your parents, and everyone in Seattle, including the rival you so desperately want to topple.”

The investigators had been thorough. Strader and his Lakeside territory were nearly the sole focus of everything Martin did nowadays.

“Are we clear?” I asked tersely.

“We are.”

“Right.”

I spit on the ground in front of him and went to get my woman. She left my son’s arms and threw herself into mine. I swept her into my arms and strode through the crowd that had gathered, which parted for us readily.

Inside, I made it just past the entrance before I set her down. I scanned her for injuries. She seemed okay, but if I’d found any, Skellin would be a dead man.

“Are you okay?” I asked.

“I’m fine.” Bristling, Addy rolled her eyes. “He was just being a creep. He doesn’t scare me anymore.”
