He fell first and hardest. Now he wants revenge.

He’d used women all his life, until he met me and became obsessed.

But I was forced to break things off, for reasons I couldn’t tell him. I had been married off.

Now he wants revenge. So he stalks and kidnaps me, like Bratva guys do when they take what’s theirs.

My life has been a constant stream of misery and nightmares.

When I met him, I didn’t know he was Bratva. I was in a bubble, until it burst, like everything in this dark underworld.

Now he looks at me like I betrayed him. Which, in a way, I did.

And no one can convince him that the truth is complicated. Least of all me.

And so here I am, at the mercy of a man who wants to hurt me for hurting him.

But glimpses of the man I used to know are coming through, like cracks in his armor.

In the darkness, he tells me I’m his. That I’m not getting away this time.

In the darkness, I know that I’m defenseless, and he holds all of the cards in his strong, capable hands.

Will he get his revenge?

The Russian Bratva of Miami has three rules: solve problems with violence, paint the streets with blood, and break hearts at will. They’re not nice, they’re not gentle, and they don’t compromise. But behind closed doors, they’ll show you what ruthless love really means.
