A ball of light formed between the two. It floated directly above Rosa’s new charity case.

As impressive as the sight was, I inhaled in a rush when catching sight of something else far more remarkable.

Piercer asked in a hurry, “What do you see?”

Quickly, I shushed him and pushed a button to zoom in, fixated on a pair of eyes that stole my breath. I grabbed my chest upon seeing colorful stars in Rosa’s eyes again. “Rhea,” I whispered with longing.

“Oh,” uttered Pierce sadly, peering down to his palm.

“What the…?” I grabbed his shoulder. Mom had already left the room, but I still whispered, “Anita doesn’t have that to offer, Piercer.”

Looking away, shame clouding his face, he nodded.

I ruffled his hair then set his needs aside. I had to focus. The glowing ball of light was now being placed inside the stomach of the blonde girl who had fair skin and eyes of gold. Hence why I’d bought her. Those uncanny eyes were going to make some buyer very happy.

Not sure what Rosa and the soot-angel were up to now, and since the last activity like this was with a pregnant girl, I asked, “They all still on birth control?”

My brother assured, “The ones who menstruate.”

My head wobbled in agreement. “Yeah, why bother if too young.”

“Exactly—What the fuck?” asked Piercer when he saw Rosa fall backward as if a tunnel of wind had blown through the playground.

I growled, “Did that bastard push her?”

“No.” Piercer tilted his head, “But something did.”

Watching Rosa recover, wearing a huge smile on her face, I knew the bitch was up to no good. I couldn’t have her fucking with my business. “That’s it.”

I groaned in pleasure for two reasons. I was about to piss off Mom … and have Rosa by my side.

To the ceiling, I yelled, “Puta is moving in, Mom!”

Piercer broke out into laughter. “Oh, shit!”

Come near Rosa now, angel-boy.

INTERTWINING MEANINGS

Rosa

Elijah snarling, “Damn, he’s an asshole,” before vanishing told me who was about to barge in right before Onus swung the door open then slammed it behind him.

Flicking on overhead lights, he was livid, pointing to Emma. “Did you make her sterile? Spare her Anita’s fate?”

Emma was still asleep after absorbing the energy Elijah and I had hidden inside her. It was a gift from my father.

“W-What?” I was confused as to how Onus could have possibly known until it dawned on me. I knew that newer technology had developed while I was in Hell. Because of what I was, time passed very differently for me compared to humans. Sometimes a whole generation passed before I looked upon humans again.

Once I was able to gather more information about Earth, I learned there was a new ‘WeeFee’ service. Some sort of internet connection between devices that no longer needed cords to link them.

Letting my eyes illuminate for a few seconds, I scanned the building that caged me. In the corners, I finally spotted spies in the form of cameras. They must have been inserted while I was given a hose shower outside.

Onus winked. “Yeah, tell your boy I’ve been watching him.”

He stumbled forward then swayed before I felt Elijah’s wings send air down as he began to fly away. No ceiling or walls confining him like me.
