Lucky for her, fixing things was my specialty.

“I think I can help,” I told her, offering my hand to help her up.

She stared at it skeptically.

“I’ll need you to switch to a different car. This one’s no good.”

“No good?” Her nose crinkled in question.

“There’s one at the front. Much better. Roomier. Plus, it’s always more fun to ride at the front of the coaster.”

“Roomier,” she murmured. “Are you implying that I don’t fit in this one?”

I took my time letting my gaze linger on her body. “Not at all.” My voice purred from my throat and I didn’t even try to stop it from sounding like a full-on seduction. “I just want to give you the ride of your life.”

She pressed her lips together, eyes never leaving mine. I wished I could read those angel-like orbs. They weren’t a real color. Couldn’t be. They were like a cloud on a rainy day, but dusted with gold. Something from a painting of the heavens.

God, listen to me.

Gia placed her hand in mine and I pulled her to a stand. She was taller than a lot of women. Not petite at all. I didn’t mind that I didn’t have to look down very far to meet her gaze.

“Follow me.” To the ends of the earth, I wanted to add. Instead, I led her across the platform to the front car. Which was luckily, empty. “Have a seat.”

I stepped aside to let her by, but only barely. As she squeezed through, I got a whiff of her perfume and that scent went instantly to my groin.

Gia sat, this time easily buckling her safety belt.

“Ah, yes, I see,” she said, smiling. “This car is definitely for the fat people.”

I blinked as her words penetrated the fog of lust around my brain. I definitely didn’t intend to imply that she was anything other than perfect.

Crouching beside the car, I reached in to check that her belt was secure, giving it a sure tug before I found her gaze once more.

“You’re not fat. You’re beautiful.”

She snorted a laugh. “I’m both, silly. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. Don’t you know a person can be both fat and beautiful at the same time?”

I knew Gia was gorgeous. I knew she was a little extra in all the right places. If that meant she was fat, then I really, really liked fat.

“Unless…” She chewed her lip, regarding me.

“Unless what?”

“Unless you’re the type of man who thinks fat people can’t be beautiful.”

A challenge.

I stood, reaching over to hit the go button on the control panel before turning back to her.

“Would that bother you?” I pushed.

She tipped her head to one side, her long hair pooling at her waist where the seat belt connected. “Not exactly. At this point in our acquaintance, your opinion of fat bodies is none of my business. But it would make me very sad for you.”

My eyebrows shot into my forehead. Usually I could control my expression. I was a master at it. At hiding my feelings when I wanted to. But her words took me by surprise.

“Sad for me? Why?”

She grinned just as the ride was about to take off. “Because,” she said, tossing her hair over her shoulder with a confidence I wanted to feast on. The strap of her tank top rolled off her shoulder and I wanted to hook my finger under to bring it all the way down—ride full of people be damned. “A man like that has no idea what he’s missing out on.”

Just before the coaster zoomed away, she gave me a wink that held sexy, sultry promises. She was teasing me, sure. But fuck, it was working.

Because now I wanted Gia even more.
