Ron rolled his eyes. “If robots take over the world,” he jerked his thumb toward Seth, “he’ll have a hand in it.”

“My assistant is bringing a batch of robots here,” Seth said, ignoring Ron. “Small, but efficient. The software has facial recognition, and I’ve already instructed the development team to configure it to keep a lookout for Ressler.”

“And it’s already on the way here?” Clary asked. “That was fast.”

Ron jerked a thumb over his shoulder. “I’ll go take a look around.”

She looked over at Ken. “Please have one of your men accompany the detective.”

“I’ll be fine.”

Clary shook her head. “I insist. Please be careful.” She sucked in a breath and took a step toward Seth. “Can we walk and talk?” She didn’t wait for his reply. She took a sip of the mocha and continued forward. “Will it cause you any trouble, deploying the bots here?”

“I’m the CEO, Clary.”

“I’ve always assumed that the CEO is the boss, but I’ve since learned otherwise.”

Seth’s lips curled. “Problem with the board?”

She shook her head. That would be a problem for another day.

He put his hand on her back. “Nine bots: one for each floor and one outside your office. Is that okay?”

She nodded.

He stopped walking. “I’ll leave you to your day,” he said and hesitated for a moment.

“Please don’t kiss in front of me,” Andrea said in a bored tone. “I’m already feeling awfully lonely just from watching you two look at each other.”

Clary bit down on her lips to stop herself from smiling while Seth shook his head.

He looked over at Andrea, then cupped Clary’s face and leaned in. “Be careful.”

“Don’t kiss,” Andrea mumbled.

“Don’t look.” But when Seth looked over—and Clary followed—Andrea’s eyes were already shut.

He shook his head again. Andrea would fit right in with his brothers.

“I’ll see you later.” Clary gave his arm a squeeze.

Andrea glanced over at Ken. “Could you get him a pass or something? All access, so he won’t have to bug me every time he comes here.”

Ken nodded.

“And I assume you’ll be dealing with the bots yourself?” Andrea asked Seth.

“Of course.”

“Good.” Andrea gave a casual wave after handing the empty paper bag back to Seth. “Thanks for the mocha.”

Seth stared down at the paper bag in his hand, then up at Clary.

See you tonight, Clary mouthed, then strolled ahead. Once she turned the corner, she looked around to scan the place.

“So you are worried,” Andrea said. “You didn’t look all that concerned.”

“I was more concerned about seeing Seth and Ron together.”
