My eyes wander past them, catching sight of Emerson a few spots down on their other side.

I roll a fist, letting it hang by my side.
“Get dressed. You’re free to go,” Kenny says. “Delta Xi!”
“Delta Xi!” we repeat along with the line of current brothers standing on the stairwell.
We disperse, all of us entering the sitting area to gather our things. Our clothes remain stacked where we left them this morning. I reach for my shirt and a note flutters out of it as I unfold it.
It’s a flyer for… something. Mandatory for all pledges, it says, but... it doesn’t say when. Or where.
I look around. Everyone else got one, too.
Folding it away, I get dressed, carefully peeling off my yellow nightie and slipping on a T-shirt and jeans.
“That was a lot more fun than I expected it to be,” Ben says beside me.
I snort. “Wearing lingerie awaken something in you, did it?”
“Hey, maybe,” he says, playing along. “I looked good.”
“Did I look good?” Alex asks.
“No.”
I laugh as Alex sneers at his brother.
“Jacinda was looking fine, though,” Ben says to me.
I nod. “Yeah, I guess.”
“You thinking of hooking up with her again, Heartbreaker?” Alex asks.
“No,” I say, ignoring the nickname.
“Why not?”
I shrug, hiding my true thoughts. “Been there, done that. You know?”
Alex nods with a smile, understanding. “Well, if you’re not, do you mind if I do?”
I snort. “She’s out of your league, buddy, but knock yourself out. Ben has a chance, though.”
With a sneer, Alex turns back to his clothes.
Ben laughs and shifts closer to me to show me his flyer. “Any ideas?” he asks.
Shaking my head, I notice the symbols along the outer rim. “Might have something to do with these?” I suggest.
Ben and I study it closer while Alex stumbles into his jeans.
“Good eye, Morgan,” I hear from my other side.
I glance at Emerson, fully dressed and staring at his own flyer.
