I swallow hard, my heart like a battering ram against my ribs. The truth is that there’s nothing I want more than for him to stay. Not only because of his promises of an epic night of passion, but because I feel safe when he’s around. I convince myself that’s the real reason I agree to this madness. “Stay.”

CHAPTER 16

ALL ABOUT YOU

Nico

Stay.

That one word echoes in the silence, carrying with it the weight of a thousand unspoken emotions. My dull, lifeless heart kicks to life, sending heated blood rushing through my veins, and my cock hardens in anticipation.

Maisy must feel my excitement because she shifts in my lap, her cheeks turning a delightful shade of crimson. “You can stay for now, but I’m not promising anything,” she amends.

“I didn’t ask you for anything. I plan on doing all the giving.”

Her shoulders tremble, a shudder racing up her spine and goosebumps swell across her bare arms. “I don’t want you anywhere near my hoo-ha unless I say, got it?”

A cackle erupts from my lips despite my best efforts to contain it. “Dio, woman, can you not say the word pussy?”

“No!” she shrieks.

“Pussssy.”

She shakes her head and claps her hands over her ears.

“Pussy. Pussy. Pussy.”

“Stop!” She squirms in my lap, her cheeks growing brighter red by the second.

I chuckle again, her reaction so unexpectedly refreshing I can’t stop grinning. “Maisy, by the time I’m done with you, you’ll be begging for me to fuck your fine pussy with my cock.”

She gasps. “I would never use such vile language.”

My brow arches, and she instantly realizes her mistake. She didn’t deny the fact that she wouldn’t let me fuck her.

“I mean, I’d never ask you to do those things to me in the first place.”

“Right… whatever you say, little fox.”

She springs up out of my lap and hobbles to the kitchen. “I need wine, lots of wine,” she mutters as she goes.

“I’ll take a glass as well,” I call out after her.

“Come get it yourself! I only have one working leg, for Christmas’s sake.”

I follow her into the kitchen, my gaze intent on hers as she pours half the bottle in the glass. “You’re not taking the pain medicine anymore, are you?”

“No.” She snorts on a laugh. “Never again.” Then she hands me the wine, a vintage selection from Bordeaux that likely cost more than my first car. With Maisy’s bungling charm, it’s easy to forget her upper class upbringing. It was something Jasper frequently spoke of during our time together.

Once I’ve poured my glass, she points toward the door at the back of the kitchen. “Do you want to sit outside? The weather’s been so nice lately. This winter was awful, I mean snow, cold, rain; man, I thought it would never end and I just can’t pass up the chance--”

I raise my hand, cutting off her nervous rambling. “I’d rather stay inside. We don’t want your neighbors watching when I coax that first orgasm from your trembling lips.”

She gapes at me, pretty pink mouth curved into a capital O. Then she swallows down half of her wine in one long pull.

I’d rather her believe my motives are selfish than mention the threat of Jasper. The last thing I want to do is frighten her.

“I didn’t agree to all that…” She gulps down the remainder of her wine and refills her glass.
