How about Ella’s Emporium?

It was a fancy restaurant, and Alexa was already anticipating seeing Victoria all dressed up, as well as wearing her nicest clothes to impress her date.

She hoped that Victoria didn’t think her pretentious, and suddenly regretted her choice.

She needn’t have worried.

Ooh, I love the food at Ella’s! I can’t often find someone to go with me, and I don’t like eating alone. Most of my friends can’t afford it. People get weird when I try to pay the bill every time.

How well I know that struggle. I’ll play you rock, paper, scissors for the bill?

You have yourself a deal. My rock is going to crush your scissors.

Alexa laughed aloud.

Not if my paper smothers your rock first.

We shall see.

They exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet on Saturday at seven.

Alexa was already wishing that the time would go faster.

Victoria

Victoria hadn’t been this excited in… well, she didn’t know how long. She couldn’t believe that she’d actually found someone who might just change her mind about dating again.

She had planned to go on one date and leave it at that, but if she and Alexa connected anywhere near as well during this date as they had over the conversations of the past few days, she would be eager for a second date.

She looked through Alexa’s pictures on the app again. They had certainly drawn her in. Alexa seemed to favor wearing her long, blond hair loose. It had just a hint of curl to it and hung down almost to her waist.

Her eyes were the greenest green Victoria had ever seen, and her curves were simply delightful. Victoria imagined resting her hands on Alexa’s hips, running them up her sides until they reached her generous breasts.

Victoria went through the photos once more. As if drawn by her thoughts, Alexa sent her another message.

See you soon!

Absolutely! I’m really looking forward to meeting you.

Alexa reacted with a heart rather than texting back, which was probably a good thing. Victoria needed to get ready. She’d finished work at five rather than six, just to ensure she had enough time to make herself stunning for the date.

She’d had her highlights redone during her lunch break yesterday. Her lunch break today had been devoted to getting her eyebrows waxed and tinted.

She took a long, hot shower, washing thoroughly, twice, as well as doing her hair. After that, she shaved her legs and under her arms.

Victoria got out and blow dried her hair before going to her closet. This would be the most challenging task. She had a number of fancy dresses for work events, but which one to choose?

She considered calling Jillian for help, but Jillian would no doubt tease her about how nervous she was, and Victoria could do without the, “I told you so.”

She tried on several outfits before settling on a gold dress and jacket to match. The color matched well with her skin tone and brought out the highlights in her hair, the slim cut accentuating her build.

She spent about half an hour styling her hair to be just right—bouncy, but not frizzy, in carefully arranged waves.

She brought out the gold eyeshadow to match her dress and did a light layer of foundation, some blush and lipstick.
