“She was pissed and called me an asshole. Then she walked out like she always does. So, I need to figure out a way to get her alone and somewhere where she can’t freely leave.”

“The cabin,” All the guys said at the same time, except Gabriel.

“No. I have a better idea. The boat. Take her out to the middle of the ocean. She can run out the door and into the woods at the cabin.”

“I wouldn’t put that past her.” I chuckled.

“But on the boat, she can’t go anywhere.” Grayson smiled. “Good idea, bro.” He patted Gabriel’s shoulder.

“And how am I going to do that? The minute she sees me, she’ll jump off on the dock.”

“I have an idea,” Gabriel spoke. “Grayson, Piper, Ava, and I will invite her on the boat Saturday. We’ll tell her you had other plans. Once we’re out on the water, you guys pull up on your boat, we’ll climb onto yours, Carter will step onto his, and we’ll take off, leaving the two of them alone.”

“Great idea, cousin,” Simon said. “It’ll work.”

“What makes you think she’ll go with you?” I said to my brother.

“Ava and Piper will convince her to go,” Gabriel said. “Don’t worry about that. Then she’ll have no choice but to listen to you.”

“Okay. Let’s do it.” I tipped the bottle to my lips.

Grayson sent a text message to Ava and Piper, asking them to join us so we could explain our plan.

“It won’t work,” Ava said.

“Yeah. Zoey will just feel weird if it’s the four of us and her,” Piper said. “But, if it’s all of us girls, she might come. We’ll tell her we want to take the boat out for the day to discuss the plans for my bachelorette party.”

“Smart. I like that idea.” Grayson grinned.

“Gabriel will be the captain, and then you guys follow,” Piper said.

“She’s going to hate us,” Ava chimed in.

“She’ll get over it.”

Zoey

Julia had texted me earlier and asked if I could stop into the coffee shop because she wanted to talk to me about something.

“Hey.” I smiled when I stepped inside.

“Come with me.” Julia grabbed my hand and led me to a table where Ava, Piper, Alex, and Jenni sat.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

“We want to invite you to come with us on the boat this Saturday. It’s just us girls. No guys,” Ava said.

“Well, except for Gabriel. He’s our captain.”

“For what?”

“We’re planning my bachelorette party and want to include you.” Piper grinned.

“Really?” I smiled.

“Yes.” Jenni placed her hand on mine. “You’re in our sisterhood now, regardless of what happened between you and Carter. We want you to be a part of this.”

“And he won’t be there?” I asked.
