After Leah and Jack conspired to get Mason and I together, they grew from co-conspirators to a “secret” couple. They were being anything but subtle even though they thought no one noticed. However, there are no secrets in Cottage Grove and the rumor mill’s tongues were wagging about them for a bit, as it was pretty obvious to everyone.

Jack and Leah would always bicker and then one day it just kind of stopped. At first it was a bit unnerving and then it was kind of cute. Bets are now being placed on how long it is before Jack pops the question. The most popular answer is spring, but I’m beginning to wonder if it will be much sooner than that.

“Ready?” Mason interrupts my thoughts. I nod. “I’ll go grab our coats.”

I kiss Leah’s head and watch him and Jack walk away. Oh how I love my life. I’m married to my best friend and have an amazing family of my own.

“What are you thinking about happily ever after girl?” Mason whispers in my ear as he hands me my and Leah’s coats.

“How my happily ever after is better than I ever dreamed.” I lean in to kiss him but right before our lips connect there is a hand sticking fingers in my mouth.

“Oh you,” Mason and I both laugh as I grab and hold Jack’s hand and give my husband a kiss.

It’s short and sweet, since Jack is really not happy about being held any longer and his squirming is making it difficult to hold on to him. Leah, however, is passed out from all her work at being the perfect little girl.

Mason gives me a look full of meaning and we both laugh. I love my life and wouldn’t trade it for the world, but we have our hands full. There will be plenty of time for kisses and more when the twins are sleeping.

THE END.
