"Oh, and I'm terribly in love with you." Her breath hitched audibly at my words. "I would like nothing more than to be with you."

She smiled as she slipped her hand into mine. "It's nice to meet you, Alexander. My name is Sophia Bennett. I'm vegan, I enjoy late-night drives, I once dated your brother, and every once in a while, I snore."

"You snore all the time but go on."

Sophia pinched my arm and I laughed. "And I'm in love with you too. Also, I know we just met, but," she leaned in and pecked my lips, "I think we're going to be together for a really long time."

"I would like nothing more."

I pressed my lips to hers. She kissed me back immediately, mouth meeting my own stroke for stroke.

I felt a deep breath leave me. All the emotions from the whole week washed out of me. The anger, the hurt, everything. All that remained was Sophia. All there is and all there would ever be was Sophia.

Maybe it was always meant to be her. Maybe our encounter at the coffee shop and then her employment at my company was just destiny in action. Fate. Whatever it was I was grateful for it.

My hand moved to the back of her head, and I tugged off the band holding her hair. The brown locks spilled over my hand, and I buried my fingers in her hair.

This was what I needed. The feeling of her skin, her hair, her warmth. The general feeling of her. It's familiar, and yet new at the same time. It's all I've ever wanted, and I didn't even know it.

She cupped my face again and one of her thumbs stroked my cheek gently. I sucked on her bottom lip as I moved over her.

She laid down on the couch and I positioned myself on top of her, my knee between her legs. I slid my hand under her shirt. She let out a soft moan when I held onto her stomach.

"I think I'd like my shirt back," I mumbled against her mouth.

"You'll just have to take it off me then."

"With pleasure."

I dipped back down and captured her lips with mine. I'd already gotten the shirt halfway up her torso when there was a knock at the door.

We paused. Sophia groaned and broke away from the kiss. I stared down at her with one of my eyebrows raised. "Expecting company?"

"I ordered a pizza." I shifted away from her, and she sat up. She ran a hand through her hair to straighten it out a bit. She grabbed her purse from the table and stood up. "It'll only take a moment. I'll be right back."

I leaned against the back of the couch. The grin on my face was all forms of goofy and dopey but I didn't care. Sophia was back in my life, we were having a child together, and we were happy. I didn't know what the future held or the problems that would arise, but I didn't care. I would meet them head-on with the woman of my dreams by my side.

Everything would be okay because I loved her, and she loved me back. What else could I possibly ask for?

What else could I possibly want?

Epilogue Sophia

Two years later...

"Aren't you just adorable?" I cooed as I bounced my son in my arms lightly. The sixteen-month-old stared at me with eyes full of wonder. He giggled loudly, wrapping his arms around my neck.

We'd decided to name him Xander. He was the best thing that had ever happened to me. Along with his father, of course.

His birth had been painful, but I wouldn't change it for the world. If it meant I got to have him in my arms, I'd go through it a million times.

"You're just so cute, I could eat you up." I tickled under his chin and his laughter doubled. I stood up from the sofa carefully.

I walked around his large nursery. I brushed my fingers along the light grey walls and stopped in front of the window. The streets were peaceful. A few people jogged on the sidewalk while others walked. Altogether, it was quiet.

A lot had changed in the last two years since we got together. After a few weeks of being mad at each other, Alexander and Chris worked it out. They were on good terms now. They spoke a few times a week. Chris was always respectful towards me whenever we saw each other.

Work had become a bit more stressful with the arrival of Xander, but we managed to make it work. Izzy took her role as godmother very seriously and she was always there if Alexander and I needed a babysitter.
