“What? Why?”

I arch a brow at her before nodding down at my crotch. She shifts just slightly, following my gaze.

“Oh,” she says, color rising to her cheeks, and it excites me how even after the other day, with my dick in her mouth, she still blushes over the knowledge that I’m hard for her.

“See what you do to me,” I say, leaning forward to peck a quick kiss against the corner of her mouth.

“I don’t know how,” she chuckles, holding her hands out, palms up in confusion. “I didn’t even really do anything.”

“You don’t need to.”

She scoffs, sarcasm coming off of her in waves.

“Yeah, okay.”

“Hey,” I say, grabbing her around the middle and pulling her to me until she is straddling my lap. I push her glasses up her face, resting them atop her head, sure that she sees the sincerity in my eyes when I say, “You are the most breathtaking, beautiful, and kindhearted human being I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. It’s effortless, and that is what I find so appealing. You’re amazing without even trying.”

I reach up and rub my thumb over the crease between her brows before leaning in and kissing her, pulling her chest flush with mine. Her hips slide forward and I’m reminded all too quickly of my growing erection when the heat of her pussy settles over me. I jerk into her involuntarily and grip her waist firmly in my hands, dropping my head to her shoulder.

“Maybe this wasn’t the most thought-out plan,” I mumble into her neck.

She laughs and pushes against my chest until she’s lifting herself off me and lays out beside me on her own towel. Reaching out to take my hand in hers, we lay back and close our eyes, soaking up the afternoon sun.

I don’t know how long I’ve been laying here, but suddenly I’m being jostled awake, Keaton’s hand gripping my shoulder softly.

“Hey,” she says when I turn my head to meet her stare. “You fell asleep.”

I stretch my arms out over my head, groaning with pleasure as my muscles flex and pull. I hook an arm around her shoulders and pull her to me, kissing her lightly on the lips.

“I don’t want you to burn,” she chuckles softly, smiling down at me. “Let’s go cool down in the water.” A new warmth blossoms over my chest, knowing that her concern stretches toward me now, too.

I hop up and help her move our towels beneath the shade of the umbrella before following her down to the surf. The shock of cold to my overheated skin feels amazing.

We stand there with the water up to our hips, and I watch as Keaton toes a seashell up out of the sand and bends down to grab it, doing her best to avoid dipping her face into the salt water. I, on the other hand, think that sounds like a great idea, and go a few more steps before diving in. When I resurface, I wipe the water from my face and push my hair back from my head, turning to grin at Keaton as she watches me.

“Come on,” I wave for her to join me, but she just laughs and shakes her head.

“Hell no.”

“What? Are you afraid of getting your hair wet, Princess?” I laugh, dipping my chin into the water to gather a mouthful and spit a stream of it in her direction.

The salty taste of it is significantly worse than I imagined, but I do my best to school my expression.

“No,” she laughs, posting her hands on her hips, “but I am afraid of sharks.”

The moment she says it, I feel this tension in the back of my knees. I know it’s just my body reacting to what she said, but the urge to bolt from the water is strong.

“There aren’t any sharks this close to the shore,” I say, taking a step closer and shaking my head at her.

I don’t know if I’m saying this more for her benefit or my own, but I continue to walk out of the water until I’m standing in front of her.

“I’ve seen it,” she exclaims emphatically, eyebrows climbing higher as her expression shifts.

“Oh whatever,” I laugh, scooping up water and splashing it in her direction.

“Hey,” she says, flinching away from the water, hands held up to shield the cool spray. “I actually have. Maybe not with my own eyes, but they do come up really close to the shore sometimes.”

“Uh-huh,” I nod, stepping closer, the grin on my face giving away my intentions.
