I finish the last bite of the empanada Andreas made and lean back away from the table, satisfied and stuffed.

He smiles, obviously pleased with himself. “I’m glad you liked it. I learned to make them in Chile.”

“Chile?” I ask. “What were you doing there?”

“Visiting family,” he replies, then takes a sip of his wine. “My mother’s family immigrated from there.”

Andreas refills our glasses, and I realize how little I know about the man sitting across from me.

“How did she meet your father?” I ask curiously.

He looks up from the bottle and grins. “My father went to IU to get his bachelor’s degree, and that’s where he met my mother.”

“Oh, that’s sweet. So, what do your parents do now?”

His face turns a bit more serious as he takes a seat across from me., “My mother passed away when I was young. My dad’s retired now, but he ran the stores my entire life. I grew up going on business meetings.”

“I’m sorry to hear about your mother,” I say. “But it’s impressive what your dad has done with the franchises.”

Andreas nods, his expression softening. “Thanks, Alana. Yeah, it’s been a successful business for us. But it’s not just about the money. My dad always taught me the importance of community. We try to give back to local schools and organizations as much as we can.”

I smile, impressed by his dedication to his community. “That’s admirable. It’s rare to see businesses prioritize community involvement like that.”

Andreas shrugs modestly. “It’s just the right thing to do.”

We fall into a comfortable silence, each of us taking a sip of our wine and enjoying each other’s company.

Suddenly, Andreas stands up and stretches. “Well, it’s getting late. I should probably let you get some rest.”

I nod, feeling a twinge of disappointment. “Yeah, it’s been a long day. Thank you for dinner, Andreas. It was great,” I say.

“Of course,” he says with a smile. “There’s a bathroom across the hall from your bedroom that nobody uses. Make yourself at home. If you take out all the drama, the past two days have been fun. I enjoy spending time with you.”

“I’m sorry, again. I swear, I rarely have this much going on. You met me at a weird time in my life.”

He cleans up the table from dinner, and I walk upstairs for a shower. Stopping in the bedroom, I grab some of my belongings and walk across the hall. The bathroom is pristine and modern, with white marble countertops and a sleek glass shower. But what catches my attention most is the large, stand-alone, claw-foot bathtub in the corner. I almost squeal.

I haven’t had a proper bath in so long, it only takes me a second to decide to use it. I fill the tub with hot water, adding a few drops of lavender oil that I find on the counter. The scent fills the room, calming my thoughts. I remove my clothes and slide into the water, feeling the warmth envelop my body.

As I soak, my thoughts drift back to Andreas. What he did to my body in the car earlier was sinful. The orgasm denial plus finding the camera has me wound so tight I can barely think. I sink lower into the water and remember what he said to me.Don’t you dare touch yourself.

But he’s not here now. There’s no way he’ll know.

I grab the liquid soap from next to the tub and massage my arms, creeping to my breasts. I squeeze them in my hands and roll my fingers down to pull on my nipples.

I slide one hand down my stomach, feeling the heat building within me. I tease myself, and a moan drifts into the silence of the bathroom as water sloshes around me.

Carried away by the need for release, I jump when there’s a loud knock on the door.

My heart races, and I quickly sit up in the tub and call out, “Yes?”

Chapter Thirty Seven

Andreas

A strange sound makes me pause my walk to my bedroom, so I stand still in the hallway and try to figure out where it’s coming from. Then, I hear it again; water splashing and moaning. My head whips toward the guest bathroom, and I think back to what I said to her in the car.
