Lucy reaches over, taking one of my hands off my steering wheel.

“Hey,” she says quietly, “look at me for a second.”

I glance over at her as I put the truck in park. She’s smiling at me, her face so open it hurts to look directly at her.

“You’re nervous.”

“No, I’m not.”

She laughs, squeezing my hand. “You’re a bad liar too, in case you didn’t know. You’re nervous. And it’s okay, because I’m a little nervous too.”

“You are?”

“I am. I think it’s normal to be nervous on a first date.”

“Not for me. I’m never nervous.”

Lucy winks at me and my heart drops to my feet.

“That’s because you haven’t been on a date with someone you actually care about in a very long time.”

“It’s a little alarming how well you know me. Are you a mindreader?” I tease.

“Nope, I just get you. Now come on, I want to show you some constellations.”

“Lead the way.”

Chapter Fifteen

Lucy

“Andthatonelooksa little bit like a dragon, see the head and the body?” I lean my head against Wyatt’s and use my finger to outline the body of said dragon.

“Mm, yeah I guess I see it. What’s its name?” he asks, turning his head so his breath is warm against my temple.

“Let’s call him . . . Harry.”

Wyatt laughs softly and I snuggle up closer to his side. I look away from the stars above us and realize just how close we are. If I move up a half inch, our noses will be touching. And If I tilt my head a little . . . nope, not going there. At least, not yet.

“Harry. It suits him.” Wyatt grins.

I point out a few more constellations to Wyatt, real constellations this time. After a few, I turn my head back to Wyatt only to find him staring at me, his lips turned up in the softest smile.

“You’re looking at me like that again,” I whisper.

“Like what?” he whispers back.

“I don’t know . . . you just have this dreamy look on your face.”

“Dreamy, huh?”

I roll my eyes and sit up, tucking a leg under me and pulling my jean jacket a little tighter around me. I feel Wyatt shift and sit up behind me, he reaches over and pushes some of the hair out of my face, his fingers lingering on my cheek.

“Don’t tease me,” I say quietly.

“I wasn’t teasing you.”

I make a face at him and he smirks. “Okay, I wasn’t teasing youmuch.”
