Gavin had the woman of his dreams in his arms and she’d taken a day off from work just to spend it with him.

Everything else could wait.

After he’d discovered her Instagram and they spent hours talking about it, Ginny had shown him her studio space. Walked him through some of her processes, showed him how much revenue came in as an influencer, what her job really entailed and how much time she spent prepping every photograph she posted online. The next morning, they’d made breakfast together and fucked on the kitchen floor again before indulging in some awkward shower sex before they went their respective ways for work.

The whole week, they found the time to be together. Even if it was a quiet night at her house with their animals on either side, or a quick lunch at whatever was close to one of their offices, they made it work. It wasn’t that they’d talked about how little time they’d been spending together, they both justknewthat it needed to happen. And Gavin was glad for it.

They binge-watched the first two seasons ofSchitt’s Creek, finished a couple of bottles of wine and made a mess of her kitchen because they decided to have sex while attempting to make dinner. After that, they found all the ways they could make each other scream—and Gavindidscream, multiple times. So to spend the afternoon just wrapped in each other, while soft music played was his idea of a perfect day.

“I was thinking that maybe we should invite your friends out here one Sunday.”

Gavin looked at Ginny, one eyebrow arched. It wasn’t the wildest suggestion she’d thrown out in the last few hours, but it was the most unexpected. “You want to hostmy friendsin your house?”

“When you say it like that, it makes them sound like monsters.”

“No.” Gavin shook his head, laughing softly. “I mean, they are monsters and they don’t deserve your love, but you really want to do that?”

“How about inviting your family instead?Oooooor, we could just take over cooking duties in their house.”

Smiling, Gavin nodded slowly. “Thatmight go over better than asking them to relocate somewhere for Sunday lunch.”

“Should I speak to your parents about it or is this something you can handle?”

“You should float it, that way it comes across as being a nice thing to do for them.”

“The five of you really don’t do nice shit for Juniper and Elijah, do you?”

“We do!” Gavin protested, but it was pointless. Because she was right, they didn’t go out of their way to do nice things for their parents unless it was a birthday or anniversary. “It’s been a while, I guess.” At the Rhodes house, Juniper and Elijah did everything because they knew what needed to be done. The boys chipped in whenever they could and contributed in whatever way was possible. Offering to do the cooking on Sunday? They wouldn’t even dare.

“Riiiiiight,” she said, dragging out the word to show that she didn’t believe him at all. Shifting against him, Ginny ran her finger over his chest and down his stomach slowly. “And then I can see all your brothers too.”

Rolling his eyes, Gavin chuckled softly and put his hand over Ginny’s. “I know that you have a thing for the Rhodes brothers, but you told Mama Renata that you only wanted me.”

“I’m allowed tolook. Your parents created five very handsome boys. It would be a crime to not enjoy the view.”

His whole life, the only person Gavin got jealous over was the one lying naked in bed with him. Twelve years ago, he was one of the few she picked in Tybee. Twelve years later, she picked him again. Gavin was aware that his jealousy was stupid and totally unnecessary, but try telling his brain that. Loving Ginny had been such a big part of his life, he didn’t know how to just turn it off.

“Sweetheart.” The word was a whisper and Gavin blinked slowly as he tilted his head down to look at Ginny. “You need to promise me that you’re not going to turn into one of those jealous assholes.”

He sighed and flattened both their hands over his heart. “I promise.”

“Because I do not want anyone else. And if I’m beingveryhonest, for the last however many years we’ve been apart…nobody has made me want more. Until you.”

Gavin didn’t need to stare into her eyes to know she was being honest, hefeltit. In the way she touched him, the way she tightened her leg around his hips and the way she spoke. She might neverlovehim, but fuck, she wantedhim.

“Little Rhodes.”

“I know, sorry. It’s just…” he blew out a frustrated breath, mostly because this was stupid. “I get this second chance with you and I’m constantly afraid that someone better is going to come along and you’ll see that I’m an okay choice.”

“Seriously?”

He nodded and Ginny moved from beside him to straddle his stomach and his eyes drifted down her naked body as the covers slipped off.

“You are my only choice. I understand insecurity, but do you trust me? Do you believe that I wantyouand nobody else?”

“Yes.” Brushing her hair out of her face, Ginny watched him and Gavin sighed. “What?”

“Why do you love me, Gavin?”
