“Very well,” he says, his eyes locking onto mine. “I’ll make arrangements. Tomorrow. You’ll be mine.”

I shiver at the dark promise in his voice, but I don’t feel anything but excitement and eager anticipation. I can tell I’m in safe hands with Dash, and not just because he’s one of my bosses.

As he leans in to kiss me again, hunger builds within me. This kiss is different, more urgent. His hands are roaming over my body, exploring every inch of me, as if he’s trying to memoriseevery curve and contour. I find myself responding, my body craving more of his touch.

Suddenly, he pulls away again, leaving me breathless and wanting. “Not here,” he says, his voice thick with desire. “Tomorrow.”

I wonder if he’s talking to me or himself.

“Well,” Edmondson harrumphs, slamming his cards down on the table. “This was a total waste of fucking time. We’re done here. I want a private room with three of your best,” he demands.

For the first time, Don steps forward, reminding me of his ever watchful presence. Shit. I can’t believe I’ve been making out with one guy, right in front of another that I slept with only two nights ago. I need to get my head together.

“Follow me, Sir. That can be easily arranged for you.”

Don leads Edmondson and his other associates from the VIP room, without sparing me a glance. My stomach sinks and twists as I consider that he not only saw what just happened, but heard every word of Dash’s claiming too.

Why do I feel like I’ve been on a rollercoaster of emotions tonight?

“Do you want to tell me what all that was about?” Dash asks gently.

“All what?” I ask even as I’m shaking my head.

“Earlier. When you left.”

“No,” I reply with a little too much force. “No, thank you. It’s fine.”

“Okay, Candy. I’m not going to force you to tell me,” Dash says smoothly, rubbing my back and releasing the tension that I hadn’t even noticed had reformed there. Why is there something so soothing about his presence?

“It’s not that I don’t want to tell you,” I confess. “I just don’t want to relive it. Ask the others, I don’t mind them filling you in, I just don’t want to go over it again.”

“Okay, Gumdrop.” I smile softly at the term of endearment. I like it. Almost as much as I liked the way Frost went from brandishing the termBambias a weapon to whispering it reverently.

“What now?” I ask.

“The night is still young. Are you okay to go back to the bar?”

“Do I have to get changed?”

“No.”

“Then sure. No problem.”

Awkwardly I climb out of his lap and then pause. What do I do now? What should I say?

But Dash seems to read my mind, standing up and taking my hand in his. “Let’s go,” he says with a small smile, leading me out of the VIP room and back down into the main part of the club with his hand at the small of my back.

As we make our way to the bar, a sense of excitement builds within me. I have no idea what’s in store for me tomorrow, but I hope that I’m ready for it.

The rest of the night is a blur of lights, music, and serving the crowds of people congregating at the bar. I feel like I’m on top of the world, free and wild and alive.

“Hi, what can I get you?” I say brightly, smiling at the next punter.

“Gracie?”

My jaw falls and my heart stops.

“Aiden?” My eyes have to be playing tricks on me. It’s like demon ghosts of Christmas fucking past in here tonight. “What are you doing here?”
