“Don’t worry about them,Litso kukly.”

“I’m not.” He moves closer to my side, and I wrap my arm around his shoulders. “I like this. It feels right.”

“Because it is.”

We eat the rest of our meal in silence, and then I take him around the city, showing him all of my favorite places. No matter where we go or who’s staring, Jaxon keeps hold of my hand or stays against my side. I’ve never hidden who I am as a gay man, but having someone like Jaxon to share it with has been nothing short of amazing. When night falls, I take him back to the little hidden oasis from the first night. Jaxon’s face lights up when he sees where I’m taking him.

“I really thought you were going to kill me that first night.”

I chuckle and pull out a chair at a table for him. “I wanted to do many things to you that night, but killing wasn’t one of them.”

I slide into the chair beside him. “I’m really glad I worked up the nerve to talk to you. I was so fucking nervous.”

“I’m glad you chose me.” I stand up and pull him to his feet. “Dance with me.”

A slow, sultry song is playing, and I pull him closer with my arms around his waist. He wraps his arms around my neck, and I feel the rightness of everything. Jaxon belongs in my life, and I want to make it permanent.

“I want you to wear my collar.” Jaxon pulls back to see my face. “I want you to be mine, and I want everyone to know that you belong to me.” I kiss him softly. “I love you,Litso kukly. I know it’s fast, but goddamn if you don’t already have my heart.”

“I want that,” Jaxon says softly. “I’ve never been this happy in my life. And it is too fast, but I love you too. You belong to me too, right?”

“Always.” I pull the collar from my pocket and fasten it around his neck. The lock at the end sits right at the base of his throat. “Only I have the key for this. You don’t ever take it off unless you have my permission. Or if something happens to us. I would have done this in private, but I needed to do it now.”

“It’s perfect.” Jaxon runs his hand across the collar, and I watch his face closely. He doesn’t look upset or uncomfortable. He looks happy, and I did that to him.

We dance until Jaxon starts yawning. I lead him to the limo, where he falls asleep against my shoulder. I’ve never been this happy in my life. I have three of my favorite people by my side, and I got a text from Kira earlier that said she might be ready to come home soon.

Nothing could mess this up for me.

Reluctantly, the next morning, Jaxon had to leave to take care of some things for his father’s estate. I already put Saint on looking for his piece of shit stepfather, and he said he should have information for me soon.

After we got home last night, I made love to Jaxon all night long. No games, just Kane and Jaxon. It was fucking perfect.

“What has you smiling that big?” Blaze asks, walking into my office. He flops down in a chair, and I can’t get over how clear his eyes still look.

“I collared Jaxon last night.”

“No fucking shit?” Blaze smiles from ear to ear. “It’s about time.”

“He’s mine now.Ours.”

“Fuck, man.” Blaze kicks his feet up on my desk, and I can’t even bring myself to be mad about it. “Did you think we’d ever have this in life?”

“No. My father made it seem like we’d die alone or go through a thousand marriages. It led us to Jaxon and Eli, though.”

Before he can answer, Saint busts into my office like his ass is on fire. His normal tan skin is pale, and he starts pacing. “I started looking into Jaxon’s stepfather. Peter Boyles. Real fucking winner right there. He’s still in North Carolina.”

“Okay. Then what’s the matter?”

Saint whirls around, and he looks scared, which isn’t normal for him. “I found more information on Jaxon while I was digging. I should have looked harder, and I’m so goddamned sorry I didn’t.”

“Spit it out,” I bark, my patience wearing thin.

“Jaxon’s last name isn’t Lennox. It’s Smoak.” I can tell by the look on his face that I won’t like what he says next. “And he’s a fucking undercover cop.”

Blood rushes through my ears. I can see Blaze jump from his chair, and Saint’s mouth is moving, but I can’t hear. Anger and sadness overwhelm me all at once. For the first time in my life, I know what true betrayal feels like. True heartbreak.
