“What are you doing?” he laughs, trailing behind me.

“Bye, Mom. Love you!” I yell on my way past the living room.

“Love you too!” she yells back right when the front door shuts.

I pull him to his Mustang and don’t give him a chance to argue. I slide into the passenger side seat, shut the door, and wait.

He gets in slowly, shuts his door, and fires the car up. “I don’t like the look in your eye.”

“Go to wherever Ghost is.”

“What?! No. Not just no, but fuck no.” He turns off the car and crosses his arms over his chest.

“Caden, you can either take me, or I go on my own.” He doesn’t budge, so I push my door open, and he grabs my arm. “Are you taking me?”

“Yes,” he sighs. I shut the door back, and I swear he mutters “stubborn ass woman” under his breath.

He starts the car back up, and we pull in front of Ghost’s pool hall twenty minutes later. “What happened here?” Boards are covering the windows, and it looks like there’s still some spray paint on the brick of the building.

“Fucking Hellraisers,” he says through clenched teeth. He shuts the car off and turns to me. “What’s your plan here?”

“It’s time Ghost and I have some words.” Before he can respond, I’m out of the car, leaving him to scramble out behind me as I march into Shooters. I jerk the door open, my eyes searching for the blonde giant. I get several curious looks and then remember I’m in a man's t-shirt, shorts, flip flops, no makeup, and my hair is in a crazy bun on top of my head.Oh well.

I spot Ghost at the back of the pool hall and stomp right up to him. “We need to talk,” I demand, cutting him off mid-sentence, talking to a guy that is at least the size of Dex.

Ghost looks at me slowly with a raised brow. “Nice to see you too, Sunshine.”

“Fuck that sunshine bullshit.” I stab my finger into his chest. Damn, that’s harder than I thought it would be.Focus, Bridget. “You hurt someone I care about.”

Ghost frowns then I watch as it dawns on him. “We can talk back here.” He jerks his head for me to follow, and I catch Caden out of the corner of my eye talking to none other than Alexey and Dmitri. Shit. It never dawned on me that they would be here. I follow Ghost back to a corner office, and he shuts the door and turns to me. “What do you know?”

I narrow my eyes. “What do I know? I know Caden finally kissed you today, and as soon as one of your buddies walked in, you couldn’t get away fast enough.”

His eyes widen slightly. “He told you?”

“Yes.” I throw my hands up in exasperation. “He told me, and he’s really hurt. And that really pisses me the fuck off.”

Ghost sits on the corner of the desk, raking his hand through his hair. “It had nothing to do with someone catching us. I don’t care about that. I just…fuck. That’s my best friend out there.”

I thaw slightly. “I know that, but he thinks you’re ashamed of it. Do you know?” I ask, hoping he’ll catch my meaning. I needed to know if he knew that Caden’s never been with a woman. As far as I knew, Ghost’s never been with a man. “About Caden?”

I watch the thoughts run across his face. “Holy shit. You know?” Fuck me. We’re still talking in circles.

“Can one of us clarify so we know we’re talking about the right thing?”

“Caden and men.”

“Yes. So, he’s okay with this. You need to make sure you are before leading him on. Because I won’t hesitate to stick the pointiest shoe I can find up your ass if you hurt him anymore.”

Ghost chuckles. “Noted.”

I jerk a nod. “Okay, well, I said what I needed to say. Fix this with him or else,” I warn, pointing my finger at him. I pull the door open and march back into the pool hall, trying and failing not to check out the twins sitting in the corner, watching me with those dark eyes.

“Damn,” a guy whistles when I’m almost to the door. “Where are you going in such a hurry, sweet thing?”

I turn on my heel to speak my mind, but Alexey already has the guy by the shirt. “What the fuck did you just call her?” he says in a deadly tone.

“Uh, it’s okay,” I supply. It isn’t something I like, but it happens.
