Pushing myself out of bed, I head downstairs without bothering to get dressed.

“Do you need any help?”

He spins around, and when he takes in my complete nudity, his eyes go hot and a muscle in his jaw ticks.

My eyes dip to the bulge in his sweats, brows rising in surprise. “Again? So soon?”

“Around you? Permanently.”

I can’t stop the grin spreading across my face. It starts with a glow in my chest, unfurling and swelling outward, encompassing my entire being.

The way he watches me . . . I want to purr and arch my back like a satisfied cat.

He stalks toward me, a tiger, except this prey is more than willing to be devoured.

His arms surround me, both hands dipping down my back to cup my ass.

He groans, kissing my neck. “You need to put something on or I’m going to give up on food completely. And sleep. Needs essential for basic functioning will all become a distant memory.”

“We can’t have you starving.”

“I might be okay with it, actually.” He bites my neck gently. “Who needs food?”

I reach down and cup the hardness prodding my hip. “You need to keep up your energy.”

“Good point.” He pulls back, his hands moving up to grip my waist, his eyes devouring every inch of me.

The oven beeps.

He doesn’t move, his hands clenching against my skin.

“Are you going to get that?”

His head shakes slightly. “I don’t think I can let go of you.”

I chuckle, kissing him and then stepping away with a sigh. “I suppose I’ll put on a shirt or something, for now.”

When I return, wearing the T-shirt he discarded earlier because it smells divine and I couldn’t resist, he’s sitting in the living room. The fireplace is on, casting an ambient glow over the two plates of pizza and two glasses of water set out on the coffee table in front of him.

“Romantic,” I say, sitting next to him and tucking my legs underneath me.

We eat in silence for a moment before he turns to me.

“Will you stay the night?”

The murmured inquiry shifts my focus from our cozy haven to the outside world. What will happen tomorrow? How will I explain this to my family? What are we even doing?

Doubts and panic nibble through the post-orgasm haze of pleasure I’ve been wrapped in.

His hand reaches out, covering my bare knee. “It wasn’t a trick question.”

I look up at him. This is Luke. I know Luke. It will be fine, if temporary. It can just be a little, fling or whatever. Getting it out of our system. He hasn’t said he wants anything more, and I’m not going to bring it up. The world can’t intrude on this, at least not right now. I’ll save my worries for tomorrow. Maybe the next day. Or next week. “I want to stay.”

His smile is relieved. “Good. I want you to stay. Does anyone else know you’re here?”

“No. I went up to my room and then snuck out the window.”

He chuckles. “You did? Did you do that a lot as a teenager, sneak out to meet boys?”
