“It’s not my decision. It’s hers, and whatever she wants is fine by me,” he said. “Whatever the hell she wants, I’m all for. Nothing’s off the table. Absolutely nothing.”

The night wore on without any hiccups. The guys played the first set like the pros they were, and afterwards, Natalie and Bernard cut their cake. All the speeches were given during this time. Even Cody got up to say how proud he was of his sister, despite the fact she drove him crazy… which everyone already knew. His speech was so touching about how he always looked up to her, and how she made him a better person and ultimately a better man, that I couldn’t help the tears that filled my eyes.

Ultimately, Cody happened to be not only a fabulous musician but a kind and loving man who had always held my heart.

Did I betray him? I didn’t know. I didn’t know anything at the moment, nor did I want to dwell on it. I’d made no long-term commitments to anyone. Those kinds of commitments were in my past. These guys were the kings of no commitments. It was part of their job description… band member… travels a lot… no personal love commitments allowed.

They were my perfect rebound affairs. I liked how that sounded, especially the affairs, plural, sounded. A plural affair was new territory for me, and I had to pace myself… and my heart… but so far, it had been fun.

I tried my best to push what had happened between Gabe and me right out of my thoughts, but every time I looked at him, I wanted to melt. I had it bad for all three of these guys, and if Natalie knew, she’d probably have such a fit, she’d explode. Or never speak to me or her brother ever again. I could handle her silence, but I knew Cody couldn’t.

It had been quite evident from his speech how much he loved his sister, admired her, and enjoyed the close bond they had despite their differences… which were many. His crush for me was undoubtably high on her list.

The good thing in all of this crowded bed stuff was that they were leaving tomorrow. Going back to Huston or Nashville. I didn’t know where they lived now. But I knew they had to get ready for their tour, and nothing could get in the way of that.

Fortunately, that would keep any of us from actually falling for each other. The crazy thing about all three of the guys was every time I kissed one of them, I felt such an intense heat rip through my body. If I didn’t know better, I would think I was falling for all three of them, equally. Was that even possible?

I didn’t know.

Yes, I’d toyed with the idea and had even gotten envious over Jess Hall, who lived with her three gorgeous life partners, but there would be no way anything like that could possibly work for me. Especially with Natalie as a friend. Cody would never, ever do anything that would purposely rip his relationship with his sister apart. And I knew for a fact if I was in a relationship with him and Gabe and Dustin, we’d never hear the end of it… and she’d probably make good on her threat to break me.

Still, one night… tonight with all three guys in my bed as a sort of farewell dance seemed exactly like the right thing to do… if they were up for it… no pun intended.

Sharing a woman wasn’t always a popular idea for most men. They were usually so damn jealous of one another that sharing a woman they liked, or even loved, was completely out of the question.

I hadn’t talked to them about this idea yet. They could hate the entire concept. Cody and Gabe could already be arguing over what happened between Gabe and me. Then there was the super-hot kiss I shared with Dustin. Did Cody know about that? And what about Gabe? He seemed as if he’d been fine with my kissing Dustin. Was he being honest or had he been teasing us? Just how close were these bandmates and best friends? Were they close enough to consider what I was toying with doing?

My head was about to explode when Cody strolled over.

“Would you like to dance?” he asked, looking so damn adorable I could die right there and be fine with it.

“I thought you’d never ask,” I told him.

A DJ had taken over spinning country tunes so the guys could enjoy some of the wedding reception. They would play one more short set in about thirty minutes, just as a kind of farewell before Natalie and Bernard left. In the meantime, I intended to enjoy being in Cody’s arms once again.

What I liked about the song choices from this DJ was that he gauged what to play by the amount of folks out on the dance floor, not by his own preferences. That had always been my criteria for choosing a wedding DJ. It was about the guests and not about his or her personal playlist.

Right now, Tom the DJ had decided to play Ain’t Nothin’ That A Beer Can’t Fix, by Thomas Rhett. We both laughed when we heard the first chords.

“Perfect song,” Cody said, then he sang along with the music as we danced to the upbeat, fun tune. I joined him, singing harmony. He seemed surprised that I knew the words as he twirled me in his direction. Suddenly, everyone around us had stopped dancing and instead, they watched us. It was so much fun I didn’t care about all the attention. I knew there were several guests who were big fans of the Wilder and Days, so it was only natural that anything out of the ordinary Cody or the guys did would get a lot of attention. Normally, I hated that kind of thing, but as long as I was in and out of Cody’s arms, nothing else seemed to matter.

At the end of the song, he tipped me down, and I actually giggled as cheers and applause erupted.

“How about it?” he asked when he pulled me up.

“Anything,” I told him.

“Anything?”

“Absolutely.”

“How ‘bout we start with that beer?”

“Sounds perfect.”

We took off for the bar then, as the remix of Miranda Lambert’s Tequila Does filled the room. Suddenly, the dance floor got crowded with just about everyone, even Natalie and Bernard. That was the thing about a country wedding… these folks loved to dance.
