I try to open my eyes, but I can't. My breathing picks up. Why can't I open my eyes? Oh God, am I dead?

I feel something light touch my lips before wetness hits my cheeks.

Something soft goes along my nose, and his woodsy scent instantly hits me.

Travis.

So, no, not dead. A coma? But why?

"Please come back to me, Precious. Where you go, I go; remember that baby."

No, no, no, no. No, blackness starts to hit. Please.

He sounds in so much pain, please. Why is he in pain?

I don't want to leave him; he needs me, please.

I sense myself coming back again when I hear talking. Something heavy is leaning against my side, and I don't know how, but I know it's Travis. He's holding me tight, his body making mine tingle.

I try to open my eyes, but they just won't budge. Seriously, why in the fuck can't I wake up?

"He's not left her side in two weeks, brother."

Gunner?

"I know. He needs her Gun; I mean, fuck, after everything my egg donor put him through, Mel is the only reason he didn't return to the seals. They wanted him back and offered him his job back with more pay, but she's the reason hestayed. If he loses her, then we don't just lose her; we lose him too. You heard him. Where she goes, he goes."

Ink! He sounds heartbroken.

"We won't let that happen, brother."

I hear a sniffle. "We won't have a chance, Gun. She's his universe, like Sophie's mine. I understand where he's coming from. I mean, fuck, look at Flame; he's dying bit by bit inside without Star. When we love brother, we love hard."

I hear Gunner sigh; Ink clearly gave him a look.

"I don't love Leah."

I'd snort if I was awake.

He so does love her, but he's too fucking stubborn to open his eyes. I mean, I've met her a few times now, and every time those two are in a room together, it's like a fucking furnace. Leah is one of the kindest people on this earth, and the crap Razor has said about her being a patch chaser is just that—crap, and my brother needs a reality check before he loses her.

I hear Travis snort, making me want to open my eyes so badly so I can see his handsome face and beautiful gray eyes.

I hear him rasp, "So you'll be okay with the fact she's now dating someone."

I hear rustling. "What? No, she fucking isn't; she hasn't wanted anything to do with anyone since I rescued her from that prick three months ago at the park."

I hear Ink clear his throat while my man traces a finger over my face. "Well, I don't know what to say, brother, because she is. Cammy set her up with someone last week; I heard they hit it off.

Ha!

Cammy can't stand her, Leah told me herself because of the things Razor has said about her. I asked why she's never spoken up, and she just shrugged and asked what the point was when they wouldn't have believed her anyway over a brother.

A shady fucking brother.

I hear a bang.

"THERE'S NO FUCKING WAY CAMMY SET HER UP WITH ANYONE. WHEN WILL THAT FUCKING WOMAN STOP MEDDLING?"
