Blake cleared his throat and chuckled nervously. “Let me go get you a towel and a robe. There’s a shower just right there, on the wall around the corner, near the pool, that you can use. Think you can locate it?”

Eleanor suddenly felt more conscious about her nakedness than she had all evening. “Of course. Er…thank you.”

Blake nodded and his eyes lingered again for a few seconds before he walked away. Eleanor was frozen to the spot, thoughts and emotions clashing furiously in her mind. What the hell just happened?

Looks like the two of you might be making pups pretty soon, after all, her wolf teased, making a sound that felt eerily familiar to a sarcastic chuckle.

Only when Blake had disappeared out of sight did Eleanor start to breathe properly again. She followed his directions and found the shower where he said it would be. It was a bit cold, but she was grateful for it, as it jolted her senses and washed away the shock of what had just happened between her and Blake.

There was no denying that he was an attractive man. He was built like a tank, his muscles bulging through his flesh. His body looked like he had been sculpted from ice, every inch of him so geometrically proportional that he looked like an action figure.

And his cock…

She felt a warm sensation between her legs as she saw the long, sweeping organ again in her mind’s eye. It was a curious monstrosity, and she was sure that she wanted to explore every inch of it.

What the hell is wrong with you?She shook her head and turned the water off. She’d gotten as much of the dirt off as she could manage, everything else would have to come off when she had a proper soak.

Blake returned with impeccable timing, holding two towels, a bathrobe, and a pair of soft slippers. He had also cleaned up some and looked better than the hot, muddy mess he had been a few minutes ago.

He made a show of looking away as he handed the towels and slippers to Eleanor. She would have thought he was being unnecessarily polite if he wasn’t visibly burning with embarrassment.

She dried off her hair and then wrapped it in a towel before drying off her body and slipping into the robe. “I’m done, you can look now,” she teased.

Blake, who had been standing with his back to her, turned around and smiled tightly. “Great. Would you like me to show you around? Xander said your things will arrive tomorrow.”

“I’d love that, thank you.”

She followed Blake on a tour of the house and was taken aback by how beautiful it looked. It wasn’t too garishly decorated in a bid to showcase wealth, but it also wasn’t as simple as the older wolf houses she had gotten used to.

She had been here before, but the house looked entirely different at night, like something that came fresh out of a box.

“This is the kitchen,” Blake said. “Laura makes most of my meals, but I do come in here from time to time when I’m feeling in the mood.”

She gave him a curious look. “You cook?”

Blake laughed. “That shouldn’t be too surprising. It’s a life skill.”

“Tell that to Xander.” She paused. “Or me, even. Don’t look at me funny, I never really cared much for it.”

Blake laughed and raised his hands placatingly. “I promise it was nothing. As I said, Laura makes the meals.”

Eleanor nodded and looked around the kitchen again. It was wide, like one of those restaurant kitchens from cooking shows on TV. She couldn’t name half the appliances she saw, and everything looked shiny and new. It was hard to believe that anyone used the room at all.

“Come on, this way.” Blake led her through a corridor with paintings on one side of the wall. At the end of the corridor, there was a life-sized werewolf figure, made with a sort of red glass.

She turned to look at him and raised a brow. He shrugged and laughed. “What can I say? I’m vain. Come on.”

There was a room to the left of the corridor and he led her in, turning on lights as he went. “This is the main living room, but you’ll hardly find me here. Although, if you were to check here…” He opened a side door and led her into another room. “This is where I spend most of my time when I’m not working or busy.”

There were two massive televisions glued to the wall, game consoles, and a sound system. There was a couch with a video game controller perched on it directly in front of the televisions. The only other furniture in the room was a bookshelf on the far wall, along with a painting of a forest at dusk.

Eleanor picked up the controller and turned around to look at him. “You’re kidding…” she said, waving the controller in front of him.

“Nope. I promise you I’m not.” His hand shot out and he grabbed the controller back from her before she could blink. “Besides, what’s wrong with a man having hobbies?”

Eleanor raised her hands in defeat and chuckled sarcastically.

Blake rolled his eyes. “Come on.” He led her up the stairs to the second floor and stopped in the hallway. “You know that room, you saw me there the last time you visited with your brother. That’s my den, my second favorite room.”
