CHAPTER

Keira

As I searched throughthe crowds of people with Vance, and Brice in tow, I became more and more worried by the minute that something had happened to her in the gunfight and she didn't make it. As we entered the parking garage, where they had taken most of the victims, I looked over the sea of women being given some clothing as they were all directed out of the building.

"Keira!" I heard her yell just before I spotted her raising her hands at me, flagging me down.

"Oh thank God!" I bolted down the stairs that would take me straight to her.

"Keira! Wait!" Vance shouted, running down after me.

Not stopping until I reached her, I pulled her in for a tight hug. "You're okay, thank God."

"What happened?" She asked moments before Vance, and Brice were at my side, scolding me for leaving them behind.

"You were told to stay right by our side..." Looking up at Vance to see why he stopped talking suddenly and it wasn’t hard to see why with the way he looked at the girl in front of me. When I looked over at Brice, he wore the same look on his face as well.

"This is the girl I was looking for." I told them as her eyes connected with the both of theirs. "We need to help her; she doesn't know her own name or where she's from."

The frown that appeared on both of their faces showed concern for her as Brice spoke up first. "You don't know who you are?" he questioned, closing in on her space.

Shaking her head, she looked to me for comfort. "She's been through a lot and she's still scared." I informed them, hoping they would back off with their intensity for her that I could feel rolling off the both of them in waves.

"Let's get her out of here and into one of the cars so she's safe. Then we can look into what's going on once we get you both to a safer location," Vance stated as he stepped forward and cautiously placed his hand on her shoulder to turn and guide her over to one of the car’s they came in.

"Keira!" I heard Porter shout, stopping my movement. Turning around, I watched as he made his way down the stairs towards me, and it felt like my heart and soul was joining me once again. As soon as he neared, he pulled me in close. "It's over. Luciano will never hurt you again."

Looking up I asked. "What did you do to him?"

"I don't want you to worry about that. Just know he's burning in Hell right now and you're safe from him ever hurting you again," he kissed the top of my head.

"We found that girl I was telling you about," I said, looking to where Vance, and Brice had led her away to, when suddenly a woman who walked by them with her head down caught my eye.

It’s her! And there's no way in fucking hell I’m going to let her escape!

"Oh no you don't, you bitch." I mumbled before taking off out of the garage area after her.

"Keira! Keira!" I heard Porter shout as he ran to catch up with me, but all I could see was red and didn't stop.

"Vance! Brice! Keira's headed towards you!" Porter shouted out, getting their attention to join in his chase after me.

Finally getting close enough to her, I launched myself through the air, landing on top of her and both of us fell to the ground with a hard thud, rolling apart. Before she could realize what was happening, I was back on top of her, punching her in the face and releasing all the anger and humiliation that she forced inside of me. "You bitch! Did you really think you were going to get away?" I screamed at her as I unloaded punch after punch on her.

"Get off of me!" She screamed, trying to block my fists from her face.

"Keira! Keira! What are you doing? Stop!" Porter said, lifting me up while Vance and Brice also tried to pull us apart.

"She works for them!" I yelled, pointing at her as Porter moved me further away from her.

Looking back at the woman on the ground, who was trying to get up, he asked. "What did she do for them?"

Tears began to flood my eyes as I recalled the humiliation that I felt. "She's their doctor who did the exams on the women they were going to sell!" I yelled with venom escaping in my voice before finally breaking down in Porter's arms. "It was the most humiliating thing I've ever been through! There was a man in the room with her when she did it... watching." I sobbed.

Feeling Porter's body stiffen beneath my hands, I heard him say. "You know what to do." Vance, and Brice then picked her up and took her away.
