CHAPTER

Porter

As we watched the confrontationbetween Jackson and Brody go on, I hoped that Brody didn't go too far over the line with him and draw unwanted attention to himself. "Yeah, well Luciano has asked me to be here so I'm sorry if you find that disappointing, but just like yourself, I am an invited guest, Mr. James. I wish you luck with the bidding tonight." With that Agent Jackson turned to walk away.

Once he was gone, Brody went to ask one of the many large guards that were posted everywhere, where the restrooms were at so he could relieve himself. When the man finished directing him where to go, Brody moved down the hallway, then made a quick left back in the direction of the door he entered a few moments ago. He quickly unlocked the door to its right; the one we told him we would need him to unlock. Turning around, he headed back, but before he could make it all the way, he was confronted by another large man. "What are you doing down here?"

"I'm trying to find the bathroom. I asked one of your men in there and I thought he said it was down this hallway, but it's not and I have to piss like a racehorse right now so if you'll kindly point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it."

We watched as the man studied him for a moment and then looked behind him, checking for something when he finally said, "come on, follow me I'll take you there personally, so you don't get lost again."

"Thanks." Brody replied as we all let out a collective breath of relief that he wasn't caught unlocking that damn door.

After Brody was shown to his seat, the lights in the room dimmed aa a spotlight lit up the middle of the room. The light acted as a blinder to the women, so they were unable to see the men and women who bid on them. We all watched as women, and in many cases young girls, were auctioned off one at a time with little to nothing on their bodies covering them, and it was then that I began to fear what Keira was going to be dressed in.

As if sensing the worry radiating off of me, Vance spoke up. "Larson, do we really need all these men in here to watch the auction?"

Larson looked at me with pity in his eyes for what I was going through and shook his head before asking me. "Who do you want in here, and who do you need gone, Jensen?"

"You and my brothers can stay, the rest I want gone."

"Done. Gentlemen, I will call you when you're needed." The three agents that were in the van with us all give me an understanding nod before leaving and shutting the doors behind them. As we redirected our attention back to the monitors in front of us, we saw five more girls, who were not Keira, auctioned off.

"Fuck! Where is she?" I asked in a frustrated tone, running my hands over my head and face, barely able to restrain myself from just barging in there much longer.

"Patience, Jensen. We will get her, but you have to keep your head on straight." Larson told me.

"I know, I know, it's just all this waiting to see that she's alive, it’s killing me."

"Hang in there, brother. We all care about her, too," Vance said to me, knowing that he was already much closer to her than the others would ever know.

Another thirty minutes went by as they sold more women before they brought out the next one with a hood over her head. Just like the others before her, they’d take off the hood once they had put under the spotlight. When the hood lifted off of her head, my heart sank and beat out of my chest at the same time when I saw that it was Keira under it. "Oh my God it's her, it's Keira!" I shouted, pointing at the screen. Looking at her, I was glad to have kicked the others out of the van when I saw what they have her wearing or lack there of. "Hang on baby, I'm coming for you." I said to the screen as I saw the tears falling down her cheeks and the hopeless look in her eyes as she stared out with the reflection of a broken woman. The sight of her caused my chest to tighten painfully.
